Time To Start Planning Our Next Trip? Queenland Boarders Are Opening Up!

Hi Everyone,

Having to be cooped up at home for so long with the last overseas trip 2 years ago due to COVID lockdowns and restrictions, I think it is time we can finally plan for a trip away! This one will be hopefully going from one state to another (New South Wales to Queensland) so definitely something to get excited about. We are aiming to do this over the school holiday over summer for a week or so. The only catch is I am not keen to fly so would be like some kind of road trip and able to stop by small towns to check them out. This thought of traveling to Queensland was ideal as the kids haven't been there before, there are some theme parks and most importantly, there are lots of long strips of beaches so we can enjoy some sun there. Ideally, we would prefer Fiji staying in a resort but with what we have been through the last 2 weeks, we would take anything!

The QLD government have put in a series of measures to make sure visitors to follow including getting a negative COVID test within 72hrs of arrival, applying for an entry permit and getting a COVID test in Queensland on day 5 once in the state. NSW have over 90% of citizens vaccinated whereas Queensland only has 80% which I wonder why they are so strict on those outside of their state. Those who live between two boarders only requires to get a boarder pass which will allow them to go in and out easily without all the other tests required by other visitors.

Things are definitely moving for the better and we can't wait to take the kids to see a different part of Australia. Many Australians are trying to visit loved ones in other states and haven't seen them due to these restrictions but with how things are evolving, we cannot be hidden anymore rather try to make things as normal as possible and enjoy life. There are times you just want to be a hermit and stay at home but after staying at home for so long with restrictions, its time to get out and about and live the life we used to. I really hope the new strain won't delay opening up international boarders longer so we can start venturing out again.
