The Two Vietnamese Friends Caught up up in Sydney

Her family and I went to the Blue Mountains a stunning work of mother nature located in to the west of Sydney. Here we were at "Three Sisters"

Passed by this pretty town when we drove back home. Can't remember the name..:)

We went for a stroll and Leo had a great time playing on the open ground of the park :)

We had kept in touch through phone calls or messengers, but nothing could compare to seeing each other again in person. Finally !!!

It has been a while since we last met since she left Viet Nam for Australia in 2019. I had planned to visit Australia that same year, however, I was unable to do so due to the pandemic. As soon as I arrived in Melbourne (lol just last year), we planned to meet up somewhere in Sydney, where she lives, or here in Melbourne where I live :) Several plans were postponed due to work and personal reasons, well, until March- it was Leo's first birthday, her son's birthday.

As a gift to Leo, I flew over to attend his first birthday and to visit his mother as well. The first day was spent exploring the city center, and the next day I took the train to my friend's place. My journey did not go as smoothly as I had planned; unfortunately, the train encountered some technical issues which caused me to wait an extra two hours before being able to board. It didn't matter as I was going to reunite with my friend very soon and I was excited.

It was a moment I had been longing for; well, the chance to finally be reunited with one of my closest friends after a few years apart. It was absolutely joyous to catch up with each other and meet the little boy Leo!!! It was amazing to watch my friend take on the role of being a mom, as she navigates her way through the ups and downs that parenting brings. I could not be happier and even more proud of her, and I was so glad that I could be there for such an important milestone in her life and special boy Leo !!

We celebrated Leo's birthday at a cozy homestead with some close friends and relatives, enjoying delicious Vietnamese food and drinks. Everyone around the table was filled with joy as we shared stories, laughter, and intimate moments. The homemade foods were incredibly flavorful, you know I was craving some Vietnamese street foods and I could eat them all here, lol.

I was a bit hesitant when I was invited to stay at my friend's house. However, when I arrived, I was immediately put at ease with the warm welcome I received. The entire experience exceeded my expectations from the comfortable bed to the delicious meals and kind conversations that made me feel right at home. We talked about all kinds of things, from our current lives to what we wanted to do in the future. We had a wonderful time catching up on our lives and sharing stories :)

It was a reunion after many years, and it has left me with an unforgettable memory. As I mentioned in my prevous post "my trip to Sydney was more memorable since I attended Leo's first birthday and spent quality with his family". We both planned to meet again soon.

I had a memorable trip and surely return to see both of them :) My friend is always a beautiful person. There's a bit of change now that she has a little boy with her- Leo, so she carries him everywhere with her 😄

It was incredible and all I can think about is wanting to come back to see Leo and her Mom 😃. He is such a cute boy and lucky to be raised in this beautiful country by his loving parents :)

Very nice of you Pauline, I really appreciated it :) It's ironic. We both stay in the same country, love it, and want to settle down here. We had been going to and going to catch up for sometimes and then came long Leo's milestone birthday. About a month ago my old friend from high school came to visit me, I had not seen her in person for about a year because she lived in another city, but the reason for the conversation was sad, she left to live in another country and only came that day to say goodbye.

It is nice that you have spent time with your friends that you had not seen for a long time 😊

I was so pleased to see you meet up with your good friend from home! What a fun visit, sharing in the birthday of her beautiful little boy, Leo. I fin it interesting to see the children of my friends, seeing a piece of them, all over again. He is such a cute little guy!

I met up with an old friend, an accident! We both met while we were separately on vacation in the same place. I was walking through a park (in another country !!)and I heard a laugh, a distinctive one and I said to my sister: That sounds like Joe! It WAS! How weird to be in the same place at the same time.

It does feel surreal, without the normal surroundings, but it was fun!

It sounds like yours was a wonderful time had by both!

Meeting up with a friend somewhere while on such a journey is really special, Sweetie, and I'm surely you both had a surprise and great catch-up with each other :) It was an exciting experience visiting Sydney for the first time, especially more memorable because I had a good time with Leo and his Mom :)

As planned, when Leo gets a bit older and we'll definitely take him on the adventures :)

The flower market looks so beautiful, I would love to visit that place, I see some pink tulips there... they are my perdition haha!

The market opened very early in the morning 5am is the best time to shop flowers here. We came late so not many left :) Thanks for your kind words 🥰
