AN Cafe
Following my last wonderful day in Viet Nam, I told my friend that I would like to get egg coffee or salted coffee after doing the Paddle Standing Board to catch the sunrise at Thuan Phuoc Bridge (see my previous post). I know it is difficult for me to find such unusual cofee overseas. So I asked my friend to visit one of my favourite local Cafe shop- An Cafe.
An Cafe has been known as one of the most popular salted cafes in the city. It is situated at 47 Quang Trung street, one of the busiest streets in the city, with many office buildings and schools nearby. As well as The cafe has been known for its great salt selections, friendly service, and cozy atmosphere, so An Cafe is always full. It's a great place to go with friends or family to catch up and enjoy some quality time together.
The Cafe Shop has a unique feel to it. Half of the shop is inside, with tables, chairs, and some old decorating stuffs while the other half is outside, with a patio and benches. The outside portion is spacious and airy, with a patio that overlooks the street. They put plants everywhere and this creates a really cool atmosphere. The staff is really friendly, and they make sure that you have everything that you need.
In Vietnam, salt is used to add flavor to food and coffee is no exception. Well, I know that you're wondering what Salt coffee is? Sounds weird? Or it's simply brewed coffee with salt added to it.
Salt coffee is a Vietnamese coffee that is made by combining sweetened cream and salt with the Vietnamese coffee beans. The combination of sweet and salty flavors create a unique and delicious drink.
This odd combination has slowly gained popularity over the years in our country, and many people are now familiar with it. Some people believe that the addition of salt gives the drink a more interesting flavor.
Salt cofee might sound strange at first, but the taste is surprisingly good. You'll love it :)
The salt coffee sounds very interesting. I have had salt in coffee before but only at home, never from a place that specializes in making it. I found that the salt made the coffee more flavorful and more well rounded but I stopped doing it because I didn't want to add excess salt to my diet 😂

I've never tried Salted Coffee, but I think it would be interesting. AS for egg coffee, I don't think I'd be ready for that, not in this lifetime, at least.

Ooooh, interesting! I haven't really tried salted coffee! I wonder if it really is tasty.
It depends 😄. Some people love it, and some believe it's odd. I don't drink it everyday. If I'm bored with daily milk coffee, I'll definitely grab a Salt or Egg coffee instead :)
I've try coffee with salt when I was in Vietnam. Yeah, it make the coffee taste much stronger. I miss that taste. I ll try to experiment that taste again at home later

I love the aesthetic theme of this place, as they combine vintage and modern with some nature, very good place to spend an afternoon having a good coffee.
That's a part I like about the coffee shop. Plus, sitting outside enjoying my coffee and watching the passing traffic is a great idea for me. :)

You ever had a salted grapefruit? I thought it was weird too, either sugar or nothing I thought. I thought wrong, salted grapefruit is where it's at.

I can imagine this combination of sweet and salty flavors in the coffee, when we prepare some sweet usually by adding a little salt sweet flavors are intensified providing an exquisite result to taste the food, the place is lovely beautiful photographs.
It looks like they just used some salt to make salty caramel on top of the coffee. Combined with the sweet condensed milk, it gives the coffee a more robust flavor. :)

I've visited a couple of coffee shop here but I'm not sure if it's ok to take a lot pictures like I did in Viet Nam. :)

I love the aesthetic of the cafe and no wonder it looks quite packed. Salt coffee isn't strange here. I tasted a few salted coffee even from Starbucks and they all tastes great!

I know that we have it over here, Trang! We have a few Vietnamese coffeehouses and restaurants and one does serve egg coffee and salt coffee. Also, my friend is from Da Nang and is always looking to find new places.
Because you went to a big city, look up a few to see if you can find one. If they don't serve what you want, ask for it. Many ethnic restaurants here will serve off menu if they know how to make it.
