Lovely post! I have the age of your son, so all our family photos look so much similar to yours. Looking at them overwhelmed me with nostalgia... Recently we saw with @fotostef a greek tv series from the 80's called "The camping". It reminded us of the how much simpler everything felt. Exactly as you beautifully described it:

Everyone was free to behave as they wished and no one was bothered by the others.

I wonder why is it so difficult now...
I still look for such places, too :) Nature, crystal clear wates and carefreeness...

Thanks a lot, @traisto! Yes, nostalgia! I feel the same way when I review the photos and the memories come back. Glad I was lucky enough to be there for a while. I'm sure "The camping" brought back a lot of things from the past, especially the simpler and more beautiful life in the past. I like movies like that too, even if they are poorly made I always find something to enjoy.... places, music, architecture and interiors of houses.
Now it's hard because of money but mostly because of people and how easily they are fooled, because of herd spirit, because they go after each other influenced by advertising and marketing, by glossy tourism.
We will search all our lives for such places, at least similar to those of our youth. You are young, if you are the same age as my boy and I hope you find what you are looking for.
I apologize for replying so late, I've had some health issues this month and especially in its late part. Merry Christmas!

It is trully sad to see people traveling around without knowing why they even do it.
There is a big all inclusive hotel in our area, part of a big hotel chain, and a dear friend used to work there. She was at the accountant office so she didn't have interraction with the clients. One day at her lunch break she decided to start a conversation with a lady and she was shocked to find out that the lady thought she was in Turkey and not in Crete... She was there already a whole week... That was a huge reveal for me.

I am grateful for our experiences of the past that seem to be strong enough to keep us romantic :)

I am so glad you feel better now and I wish you a full recovery soon!
