Under the Light with Kwakumax

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge. Sunshine is a welcome thing but so is a warm wide hug. It was a Wednesday afternoon after a long awaited photoshoot. I travelled to Sunyani without my photography gear. I had not planned on taking any photos during my travel but I couldn’t help it than to have a photoshoot session for Janet’s pre-birthday.

I quickly contacted @kwakumax who resides in Sunyani to hook me up with his gear. Although not a Sony shoot, I had to put my knowledge to test. The beauty of knowledge is that, if well learnt it cuts across everywhere. Let’s move to the shoot then.

As a photographer, one of my low moments has got to do with taking pictures of myself. And so it was the same for @kwakumax. Photographers always make beautiful images of others but fail to be present all the time. He isn’t any exception that was why we had to force to bring out these beauties to life.

Initially, the idea of the shoot wasn’t that of a monochrome. But the temperature of the pictures I took compelled me to bring them out as such. I wouldn’t have brought it out in any other way as the pictures look spectacular in monochrome.

Smiles are just gestures that can enhance every picture. I prefer to always photograph happy subjects and @Kwakumax was intrinsically a happy individual. It’s not everyone who will give out his camera and accessories out for a photoshoot for free. It takes someone with a good heart and a certain trust level to do that. I will use this opportunity to say how grateful I am for the gear.
