Ton Sai Waterfall, Phuket, Thailand.
Phuket Island in Thailand is known as the biggest island in Thailand and, I still remember the first day, I visited this island, I could not get over how green and lush the landscapes are especially high up in the mountains rain-forest and this was right up my alley, I am the sort of person, you can put me in a jungle and you won't see me for days just love the smell and freshness of rain-forest jungles.
I have visited Phuket Island on a few occasion lately due to my work travel and have had the opportunity to stay here several days at a time giving me the chance to explore the island more and more each time, on my last few times that, I have been here, I hiked through the jungles with some great friends and they took me to see the Bang Pae Waterfall, Kathu Waterfalls and this time they took me to the Ton Sai Waterfalls.

Ton Sai Waterfalls are about 22km from Phuket Town heading north, it's a beautiful drive heading out there going through these beautiful tunnels of tall trees along this nice stretch of road it's actually not far from the neighboring Bang Pae waterfalls that we visited down this way last time.

The difference between Bang Pae waterfalls and Ton Sai waterfalls there is a lot more varieties of trees, tropical plants and huge mushrooms growing everywhere around the waterfalls and for some reason the rain-forest seem to be greener and healthy.

And maybe because of it's healthy vegetation at these waterfalls there seem to be a lot more wild life, like many more species of birds and walking along the nature trail we even got to see some Gibbon Monkeys the bird and animal sounds that were coming out of this forest made you think you were in the Amazon jungle.

The reason, I think these waterfalls were more lush green and healthy looking is because they are more inland away from the beaches more near rural farmlands which gives it that more peaceful surrounding, is why you see more wild life here the waterfalls their selves end up flowing into farm land giving clear healthy water irrigation to the farmers, lucky farmers having there farms nearby these beautiful waterfalls.

It took us a good 3 hours to get up to the top of this mountain sometimes dirt trails and at times climbing over rocks but honestly a very enjoyable hike all the way up this mountain observing waterfalls gushing down between these huge boulders and amazing tropical plants all the way up to the start of the main waterfall it was so refreshing and the smell of the rain-forest was a real delight.

To enter the Ton Sai Waterfalls National Park will cost you (200 baht) $6 US and for that they do allow you to camp overnight if you like to spend the night in the rain-forest and there are camp sites and facilities available including a small coffee/restaurant shop at the entrance bass of the waterfalls. I was quite pleased to have paid the fee to have seen these stunning waterfalls and all the amazing tropical nature that goes with it, one place, I would come to again and again just for it's beauty.
