Black Rock Viewpoint in Phuket, Thailand.

(Edited)
I have blogged about a couple of viewpoints in Phuket Island, like the Windmill ViewPoint and the Laem Krating Viewpoint well on Sunday we decided to hike up to another viewpoint called the Black Rock Viewpoint in Thai it's called the Pa Hin Dam this viewpoint was more challenging to get to, we started our walk from Karon beach Road, walking uphill on a dirt track which took us about two hour to get to the top where there is a sign painted on a huge rock saying another 200 meters but the remainder of this 200 meters was having to go through a rough pathway into the rain forest having to climb over rocks at times.

There is always something new to see and discover in Phuket Island many places even till today still haven't been discovered yet, this new viewpoint was only discovered a couple of years ago and has only recently been put on google map but it's still a bit hard to find as there are really no signs apart from someone painting the name of Black Rock Viewpoint in Thai on a big rock which to me would have meant nothing and would have kept walking to, I fell of the cliff edge if, it wasn't for my friends knowing the right pathway to take through the rain forest.

Even though it was a tough and rough hike on that last 200 meters as the sign said, I figured it was more then that through the rain forest but anyways it was a interesting, peaceful and refreshing hiking through this rain forest, we new we were getting very close to the Black Rock Viewpoint as we could smell and see the Andaman sea peeking at us through the woods.

It had taken us about two and a half hours to reach the very top at the cliff point they say up here you are about 300 meters above sea level you can ride a motorbike up the dirt track which then you only have to hike through the rain forest but we wanted to test our fitness levels and it was all worthwhile when we reached the cliff side of Black Rock Viewpoint, these were stunning breathtaking views from up here.

It was worth every breath of the way to get up here, we were so lucky to have had a clear blue sky we could see Windmill Viewpoint 20 km away were all the wind turbines are, a great view of Nai Harn Beach, Phromthep Cape and the islands beyond all on the left side and on the right side you can see Patong Beach and the Patong Town. Just one thing be very careful up here there are no safety rails or warning signs and the cliff drops sharply with the long grass your really not sure how close to the edge you are so keep your distance stay back take a deep breath and enjoy the spectacular views and now, I can cross of another awesome adventure to another viewpoint seen and conquered in Phuket Island.
