The little things count! Banana mango smoothie

Our first stay in Spain

Although I'm very happy being where we are now, in our own apartment, which is much bigger than you'd expect a 1-bedroom apartment to be, I also miss the view of the first stay (AirBNB) because sitting outside on your own terrace with a sea view enjoying the cool ocean breeze has something calming and magical! I really enjoyed opening all the windows in the morning for a brief moment until the sun hit our windows and it was time to close everything to keep the heat outside. But I, even more, enjoyed the moments when it was the end of the afternoon when the biggest heat would start to arrive, but our balcony was actually slowly cooling down because of the sun being on the other side of the building.

Grateful for the little things

Sitting on the terrace would make me feel humble and grateful for being in Spain as well as finally feel lighter again. The language around us, the friendly people greeting us on the streets as well as the waiters when sitting down for a tapa, all adds up to these tiny moments of feeling intensely grateful. I feel at home, even though Spain is not my birth country, when we settled here for 14 months some years before leaving for Hungary, I felt homesick from the first moment. We had no better options at the time, so we made the most out of a situation that was not ideal, this time we managed to get back here by our own choice and not because it was the best option out there. We want to be here, which is a huge difference in all the planning and the overall experience.

Not a day without feeling grateful

Ever since we arrived, there hasn't been one day that I said out loud that I'm so grateful and happy to be here. This is our home, we did it, and it's actually different than we envisioned (our home) but maybe even better as we don't need to fill up 3 bedrooms with stuff, and can also work on having a more minimalistic lifestyle. While we don't have our own little terrace in our new home, I just enjoy browsing through the pictures I took when we had a sea view a few weeks ago, enjoying a banana & mango smoothie. It was delicious and even better sitting there absorbing the environment.

Smoothies for the win

Our daughter is the easiest to convince new flavors when they arrive in smoothies. To make sure she at least gets some veggies and fruit every day, I make smoothies for us. A few days ago, my boyfriend went to the evening store to grab a drink and came home with a blender instead haha. He found one for a good price and I've been very happy since because now I can finally create healthy smoothies again, which I had been missing for the past weeks.

Things are coming together

Slowly, and bit by bit, we are collecting everything we need at home again. Now I just need to find a way to store things logically because we have so much storage space that I'm overwhelmed and actually wonder where to put everything we have so far. Strange, isn't it? Usually, you'd have the problem of NOT having enough storage room, at least, that's what we had in every single home so far! Even though some of these places had more bedrooms! Most were just super unlogic furniture-wise and here it makes more sense. I'm happy! Did I say that already? :)

Thanks for stopping by!

I believe everyone would understand why you miss the AirBNB because views like that are to die for.

Happy for you that you're settling into your new space and soon enough, you'll figure out what to do with the excess space.
Good luck @thisismylife

That's funny that we have almost matching photos on our posts today, just the colour of the drinks and your great view of course!

Good to see your latest update 🤠

Hey you are in Spain, that's great to hear and that you have found a good place to live. I would be lost without my blender, so I understand you missing yours, that's great you got one xxxx

Yes! I'm so happy to be back! That's one of the items I really hated selling before we left our home in Budapest.

How is your situation going, I remember reading about the move and due to my own emigration process I haven't really been able to follow on progress. I hope you and the ladies are doing great!

That is a great view (photo) and views (your thoughts). They say when you feel grateful of the little things, you will see more and bigger things to be thankful for. You will figure out where to store things out as the days go by :)

Dear friend, he adapted to the situation and should enjoy the situation. Live in the moment. 🤩🤩

I love staying at my sister's place which has two balconies. In the early morning, I'd sit on the one facing the street - it was cool for my breakfast and early morning writing. I could watch the comings and goings in the street, and the farmer of the land opposite moving sheep or harvesting hay.

In the late afternoon and evening I'd sit on the other balcony - out of the sun, but from where you could see the sunset over the sea (you could just see the sea, too). It was a lovely way to live, and a smoothie would be perfect 😍. Sometimes, a gadget is just the thing!

Good you still enjoy the little things in life. Most people do it for a couple of days and later on they take it all for granted. Keep smiling and enjoy every day!

Just the thought of a smoothie with mango in it makes my mouth water. How do you do your smoothies, do you add some water or milk or nothing?

I usually add milk, in Hungary, I used to go for alpro soya coconut milk but I Haven't found that here yet, that doesn't go for all flavors btw. But when it fits, I like to add coco milk. I rarely add water or yoghurt. I also never measure anything when making a smoothie, just add X banana (depending on what's there lol) in this case it was 1 mango, some milk and then see if the texture is good, if not add a bit more milk.

I really love smoothies :)

As a matter of fact, let's make one now haha.

Yeah, having too much storage space is a foreign concept to me! I can't even imagine!
