Hotel Spa Wellness Resort - Part 2 - Change Of Accommodation

Hotel Wellness & Spa part 2 change of accommodation.png

Apartment Approved

As I wrote in the previous part, we went to check out the apartment to make sure this was an upgrade and not a downgrade. I admit that the "beds are softer" comment of one of the guys helping us move our luggage was reason enough to believe we'd be happy with the change from hotel room to apartment. I always prefer apartments because of having a fridge and the option to cook something yourself in case the food sucks. Often they are also bigger but in this case, the apartment was smaller than the hotel room. It was big enough though.

And most importantly, the air conditioning was turned on when we walked in and it was getting cooler right away. Great! Let's change accommodation right away. Thankfully, I didn't have to walk back because they offered to bring our luggage for us, my boyfriend went back to help the guy though as it was a shitty route through the garden including horrible stairs. I wanted to save my knee the trouble whenever I didn't really have to use it.

Too bad I forgot to take decent pictures as moving to the apartment late at night was a bit of a bummer. We were tired and wanted to lie down. But as the apartment looked quite stylish (especially compared to the hotel room furniture) I wanted to show the upgrade.

But thankfully, at least I took this picture of our daughter on the huge sofa bed:

She slept very well and slept through my alarms just as I did.

Waking up

This was actually quite weird, I had a horrible night, even though I slept like a baby, so it seemed, I had the weirdest nightmares and I could not wake up properly. Even though I set 5 alarms to make sure my daughter and I at least made breakfast. I'm used to my boyfriend skipping it as he usually wants to take advantage of the moment when he doesn't have to be up at 8 or 9 AM. Which is fine, so usually we have breakfast together.

This apartment building was a maze though, by the time I actually woke up, it was 10.30 and we just had half an hour left for breakfast, it was a bit stressy. But I knew it would be ok. But then we took the elevator and left every floor to check where the door was to the garden leading to the hotel area, and we were lost. We didn't recognize any of it, haha. We had to walk there in the evening, it was dark but I never expected getting out of the building would be an issue the next day.

We had to go back and wake my boyfriend to ask as he joined the hotel guy the evening before to pick up our stuff. To my surprise, he said I will get dressed and join you. He also said it was weird being on the first floor and needing to go to the second one to get out. Anyway, now we knew and we could chase to the restaurant for breakfast. Too bad it was not that great, and my boyfriend got sick from the food just an hour later.

The view

When we were done with breakfast, we could finally open the shades and check out the view from our balcony. In the apartments, the view was the golf course. Nice and green! I love it, especially because nice and green is very rare in our dry and sandy coast area, as you can see in the background looking at the mountains surrounding the area. This resort is truly a green hidden gem.

We never sat there because it was either too hot to sit there or too dark to sit there. The Hotel area was better to sit during the day honestly. We also only had 2 chairs and a table, which is not ideal with 3 people, lol.

I wish I could have such a green view every day, I really adore palm trees and it always gives me the holiday feels.

Back home to check on the kittens

After breakfast, we drove home to check on the kittens as well as get some water supply because, without the minibar, there was no bottle of water available in the apartment. Of course, we didn't know this before leaving so we decided to pick up a few bottles at home as we had loads of water and needed to clean the litter boxes anyway. The kittens behaved well, thankfully. They were happy to see us so it seems, it must have been weird for them to be alone for half of the day all of a sudden.

Swimming!

Time to swim in the very nice pool:

We managed to find a free lounge sun bed with shades on it, which was lovely and much more comfortable than the regular chairs.

This was our view from the sunbeds, as you can see, it was not crowded as most Spanish people go for tapas or have a siesta during this time. It was actually lovely not to have the pool flooded with other people.

It was lovely to see some birds take a bath as well, they must have been hot that day. Thankfully, our sunscreen was doing its work and none of us had a bad burn. I was totally prepared to have one because it usually happens when we spend some hours straight in the direct sun, especially while swimming. Unfortunately, we had to stop swimming after a few hours because some lunch was needed to make it to dinner time, and we booked the spa at 6 as well.

Spa

When we booked the appointment earlier that day, I took a few pictures of the very cool (and totally not expected) decoration inside the building where the wellness area was located. It looked very fancy.

I wish I could share our spa experience here but we ended up not making it to the spa that day, meaning we missed the whole experience. It's pretty shit because that was the one thing my boyfriend was really looking forward to. But such is life, we can't change it now anyway.

We may book a separate spa entrance in the near future though, it's a bit more expensive just a single ticket but as we now have a babysitter and it's very doable in terms of distance from our home, we will surely check it out as the ambiance looked amazing on the pictures, I expect a lot from it.

That's the end of part 2, I will share the third and final part in the next coming days. Thank you for stopping by!

*As I'm not sure how to pin the location of the hotel, I will just add Hotel Envia Spa & Wellness Resort Almeria, Spain here and hope it will be alright.
