The first walk all the way downhill

We didn't feel like walking all the way downhill until a few weeks ago when we decided it was time to explore the beach and restaurants on the boulevard. The reason we postponed is simply because of the heat wave and then having to walk all the way back uphill to our home. I thought this would be "normal" much sooner but it seems as if it's not become easier at all. No matter how long our walks are and how much more activity we get a day. Instead of looking up to it, we just walk the walk at least once a week, hoping that we pick a day with reasonable humidity, haha. Humidity can be a pain, for real!

Something tranquil about the sea

Whenever we arrive downhill, the sea will make me instantly zen, I love looking at some lost (fisher) boats or seeing the fishermen trying to catch something before the sun sets that day. What I still don't like is the fact that the sky has never been clear at all, although I love looking at the pictures of the sea and the boats, you can see that the sky is far from clear and has a constant "brown-is" color. This has nothing to do with the sunset btw, as it's there all day. As soon as we leave our street, we can look in the direction of the sea and even see it, but in the past weeks, we only see a brown sky and it's barely visible anymore where the sky ends and the sea starts. What a shame and so far for my intended pictures of sunsets and sunrises! I was planning on walking down early morning one day to check if I could capture the sunrise but the fact that the sunset is so unclear here with these skies is withholding me from even making the walk down there. Maybe it will clear up after summer, which I hope.

We thought we found the hotspot

When we had this walk downhill, we thought we were at the hotspot part of the boulevard as we found restaurants and even a few clubs there. We sat down for some tapas, nothing special as you can see in the pictures but it was a nice place to have a seat and enjoy the music around us. The club was very crowded and actually lovely music. We didn't enter as I didn't think it was appropriate for a 6-year-old to enter. Later that week, it turned out that the actual hotspot was even further and in the actual harbor. Another 15 minutes walk but I can tell now, after 1 visit that it's well worth the walk!

I love when there are lights everywhere in the evening and you get the holiday feel from walking in the harbor. Of course, the prices of the average menu in these restaurants are a bit higher as well so it's not something we will be doing several times a week. I'm hoping to explore the restaurants a bit by going there once a week. I have to remind ourselves that before we know it, summer is over and we may soon be seeing restrictions again making it impossible to even have these walks. So let's try to enjoy it as much as we can, while we can.

Thanks for reading!

Tapas are the best, I always wondered why not more countries are picking this way of cooking and eating food, you can try so many good and different things in one go...yumyum 🤤

I agree, I honestly love it and missed it when we were in Budapest. Tapas rock :) and I also love the fact that you can order several different ones and still not pay as much as having one main dish :)

Beautiful photos! It must be so nice to live there, but I see what you mean about the sky, I wonder why...maybe the humidity? Hopefully this heatwave will be gone and you'll be able to see the clear blue sky. Still, it seems so nice to walk down, have tapas there, by the seaside. Great life! Thank you for sharing.😊

Sounds like a nice outing. I know what you mean about humidity. It's like that where I live when it's hot and I just stay inside when it is. Funny how looking at the water can be so relaxing.
