12 Days Of Christmas - My Silver Wish List - Day 8

Continuing 12 days of Christmas

As I had no clue the 12 days of Christmas starts after Christmas, but thanks to @silversaver888, now I do. It actually starts today, so I figured let's share a few more coins on my wish list. I will probably share one every few days as I only have to share 4 more after today. First, time for number 8, today I will share with you the one I will probably buy soon because of the reasoning behind it.

Emotional during Christmas

Often I feel very sad during Christmas and I have a short fuse. This has to do with the missing of my two oldest kids who I haven't seen for way too many years. The backstory is not important here, it's just the reason that grieve and pain comes to the surface and I think many people know how it feels when this happens during holidays and birthdays. It's the same for a lot of people who are forced to miss loved ones, no matter who this may be. I manage better than I did the first year, every year it gets a bit easier but tears still come to surface when I write about it or think about the last Christmas we spent together.

Keeping the memories alive

I try to keep the memories alive by making sure the two oldest will be with me in our new home as well. In the old home we never bothered to hang up any pictures as it was cold and not cosy. Here I plan on doing different and made a huge selection of pictures recently to print. Sadly I only have bad quality pictures of them growing up as I had to do with the pictures my mother sent her friend a few times, she passed them on to me. It's better than nothing. I have amazing pictures of them as little ones, and I still feel so proud looking at these..

My oldest was born in 2010 and for a while I decided to collect silver rounds from their birth years. Not only to keep the memories alive but also to pass on to them later when they grow up and are hopefully able to stand up against their father to contact me.

2010 Intaglio 1.5 oz unicorn silver round

The first coin I found from that year is this 2010 Intaglio 1.5 oz unicorn silver round:

Why this one? Well, I was looking for coins from her birth year and this one spoke to me. My oldest is a beautiful girl with a very special ginger colour hair and she's the smartest cookie you can imagine. She skipped two classes in her first years at school and I know she will make it far. She was creative when she was little, I can only hope that she never let anyone block that creativity from her like it did with me for many years. She had something magical when you looked at her, an old and wise soul and some things that I remember only confirm that this was the case. She will always remain my strong and magical unicorn, even if we're thousands of miles apart. Maybe one day I can give it to her to let her know, I remember and show her that she lever left my mind, ever.

Design

I personally love the design of this coin, it's different than those that I already have and the obverse would be the side I'd admire the most, the unicorn with mountains and some trees.

Contains 1.5 oz of .999 fine silver;
Produced by Intaglio Mint;
In BU condition and reeded edges;
The Unicorn stamps the obverse;
The reverse features the company’s logo.

I think for 1.5 oz the price of 50 bucks (more or less, I compared a few sites) is ok, especially because I would buy it for emotional reasons and not really the silver price value.

That's all for day 8, see you in a few days to share my nineth silver wish list item!

I've taken that route many times. As the Jews say, "Shalom, Peace be with you," for this Christmas day.

Thank you.. and you know it's a journey this silver stacking and I think eventually a nice mix of these type of emotional collectables mixed with some sweet priced silver pieces will do the trick.

Thanks for stopping by <3
