HOW I SOLD OUT MY KNOWLEDGE FOR MONEY

Knowledge is power they say but I can confidently say, Knowledge is money too
I was 18years when I finished my second external exam, my parents took me to a shop to learn how to design and print.
It was a stain to my reputation because out of the many things that I hated then was having to follow orders.
I hate following orders, I have never wanted to be a robot that listens.
I didn't put too much effort into my training, I was always feeling depressed and out of place, I just wanted to write but my parents wanted me to make beautiful graphical designs and other printing techniques. It was like my parents are living their lives through me.
Fortunately after two years Corona virus sets in. I had to stay indoor for a very long time.
My parents decided I cannot be idle, they bought me a laptop and told me to continue learning.
I found that pleasing because I won't be under the control of any man. I only practice whenever I wanted to.
After a few months of training, I became a fan of graphical designs, I loved it that I practiced everyday.
I realized if you desire a thing, even if you spend 10hours you still won't feel the work pressure on you.
I would spend hours working and testing new design templates and never do I get tired. I developed an underlying love for it.
After a few time, I was good enough to charge a price.
I placed a premium value on my skill and my knowledge about graphical designs.
All I did was tell people I know how to design and I was able to secure a few customers.
**
You can always sell what you know if you are good at it.**
Being good is an advantage, it means you are able to develop a system that pays your competence.
To sell your Knowledge it requires you posses the following characteristics:
1. COMPETENCE:
Competence means your ability to deliver anytime and anyday.
Competence is the only way you can place a premium on your knowledge. If you want to teach driving, I assume you must have grown from being a novice to becoming a pro at what you do.
You can't teach if you haven't grown enough to learn. Without competence your knowledge is a waste.
Ability to market your knowledge
I believe so much in telling people what you know how to do. A good graphic designer will not get good jobs if he doesn't market himself.
To earn from your knowledge or skill you need to tell people how good you are. The more people you reach out to, the more money you can make.
A skilled or knowledgeable person is only informed, he or she will make money only when they can reach out to people who will pay a premium to get their knowledge.
If you can't market your knowledge, it is impossible to make money.
For 2years I took my time to train and market my knowledge.
Knowledge is power but with competence and a marketing plan, your knowledge can turn to a stream of income
Try to place a premium price on what you know. I'm rooting for you🥂🥂🥂
Nice write up.
Competence really goes a long way telling how much one is worth.
Definetly! With competence you can always charge premium. You're paid in relation to how good you are🥰🥰
I thought you could show off some of your crafts.. Maybe in subsequent post yeah...
I'll, thank you🥰
