Do you feel lucky Punk?
As we approach the halfway mark of Punks on Hive, I am amazed at how popular they are and how difficult launch has been. Everything ran so well during development.
While I have been super busy trying to fix things and get things back on track while running on little to no sleep, I have been checking out some of the collections people have.
I am still stunned by @yabapmatt truly showing how to Ape, his collection is legendary.
I said this a few times, but I really love the bubble gum accessory that wasn't in other Crypto Punk sets and made it super rare (only about 10 will exist in all 10K, plus or minus about 4).
Matt has two of them, in fact he had the only two for quite a while yesterday. Looks like six Punks have come out with bubble gum.
This has been one hell of a 36 hours, between the excitement, stress, exhaustion, and frustration. I'm quite chocked up with emotions. This launch has given me a lot of insight in how I would do things differently. For one, I try to stay grounded and not try to build something so clever that it ends up being the bane of my existence.
In the end the Real-Time Rarity isn't such a big deal if all Punks are minted in just a few days. I really regret not just doing what everyone else did and generate ahead of time and distribute them randomly. I reall loved the idea of the rarity changing and the excitement to see what others pull and how it effects your collection. I was hoping for a Ying Yang effect of emotions. It ended up taking a good amount of time and won't ultimately make a huge difference after all. It's also been a source of some of the performance problems with everyone hitting things so quickly. Another side effect I kind of expected is the reluctance of buying/selling on the market as you can't be sure what the ultimate rarity will be. This can potentially be good or bad though if you manage to scoop up some good picks.
I do want to do other NFT projects, I have learned so much in this process and would do things differently right off the bat. I have a really cool NFT project in mind that is basically 5 NFT projects in one.
I know Punks have been done a million times, the thing is, every blockchain already has them but we didn't. That being said, I tried to bring an unique spin to it, even though it backfired, I learned a ton.
We are 200 Punks shy of the halfway mark, Hive Punks will truly get interesting when you can't mint them anymore and you know who is holding the good ones. Although I do like the give and take of a moving rarity score.
On another note, 10 Punks got burned. I don't know how the user managed to do it with the checks in place to prevent it (I ended up adding another check) but these punks are now off the market. I ended up giving the user a refund regardless.
I hope everyone is having fun with the Punks despite the set backs.

Yes there is a delay to show up on sight as it is catching up. But you already have possession on the nfts
So, how much time does it take to show up the collection on the gallery now?

Btw why did you make these rare.... I feel WSB are overated here ... even though I own one.
I chose what I thought was unique or fun to be rare. And some just because I think they were more expressive like the Rasta and Jesta hat.

Are there any plans to release a way to see all the punks that have been minted and sort them based on rarity?
Yes. Certain features on the site I couldn’t do before Hivefest.

I minted 2! They're the first NFTs that I've ever bought. Am still awaiting the second one, but I really like the first one that's arrived in my gallery. She's a lady, so I could use her as an avatar if the mood takes me. Great project. Chapeau! :)

Plus you could probably license it to NFT projects all over, even patent it if you want.

The website is down, trying to let as many people get part of the last 1,000.
How many are left? I have been trying to mint more, but haven't been able to get the website to work... I see it is under maintenance. I don't want to miss out now that I have more liquid available and was trying to get them for the price of 20 HIVE before it is too late.
There is less than 1,000 left, I don't see them lasting a price hike to 25 Hive.

This was one of the coolest projects on HIVE in a while, the way you executed it was awesome. Yeah it went down but eventually it all worked out. congrats on the huge success. May our Punks get desirable in the future.
