RE: Resolutions or Goals?
Resolutions or goals... Blah blah blah, All another way of putting a tag name on something so we can ignore ourselves.
Sorry. not the reply you might expect.
I feel more and more the reason for things is lost and a non-consequential replaces it. Or maybe more so the non-consequential is put in place first to undermine the norm.
The idea behind resolutions is self reflections. It is about changes to the self.
Things like going to the gym or not eating as much fast food. (Thinking about that. You would think fast food would keep people slim. Them having to catch it and all.) These are not things that improve the self. They might improve your appearance and your ability to perform certain tasks. All'n'all, what changed about you though.
The reflection should be inner I think for a resolution. A reflection of yourself and your interactions with those around you. The habitual reactions we enter in to when we talk with people of familiarity, how we grow to have expectations of them. How we take for granted the thigs around us.
In all of that finding the good parts and isolating any bad. The resolution should be to reinforce the good and dismiss the bad.
Just a thought.
Maybe the bible is not meant to be read. But meant to be explored.
