Foxy Greetings and Introductions

avatar

Hello everyone!

!

My given name is Leandre Warren, a rather pretentious and often difficult name for most people to pronounce, I have encountered every interesting pronounciation under the sun, however to my friends and my loved one I am simply Lee 😀 often called Foxy by certain of my buddies.

I became pretty fox obsessed at one stage, and was looking for a business name and well, The Foxy Geek SA was born. An ode to my love of foxes, read mild obsession, and my tendency to love everything technology related. I am a geek at heart, having been in a variety of technical based jobs in the past.

I live in the very beautiful Cape Town, South Africa. Although I am in the midst of a very sudden relocation, location still mildly undetermined, but as soon as that is nailed down you will receive multiple move updates and sharing, a girls got to vent somewhere 😉

So more about me, and well this is an interesting one to be sure.
I am 41, almost 42, which in all honesty is a shock, I am not sure how one is supposed to feel at 42, but I'm sure that this isn't it.

I have a beautiful 14 year old son, and just like his mom he is tech obsessed.

I am thoroughly blessed to say our family grew by one more, with the addition of my very beauitul wife. We officially said I do on the 9th of September, a mere 1 month ago. So yes we are very much newly weds.

She is based in the army, and is currently away from home on a course for her next rank, Sargeant Major, an amazing achievement in every sense.

Beautiful wedding photo by https://reayphoto.com/

I am a mixed of a very many things, I am an artist by nature, although not by trade. I run a small sticker and journal supply business, as most South Africans having a side hussle.
I draw, paint, crochet and my latest obsession is junk journalling.
Or creative journalling.

This is a beautiful process of just trusting the process and letting go, putting pieces together to form a journal for no other reason that to be art and to be pretty.

Creative journalling is a exceptionally healing process, as many people in our world, I have a few mental health issues rambling around, depression, PTSD and Adhd to mention a few. The phrase I love that is being widely used is neuro divergent, a wonderful term to embrace all the differences.

I am a tentative writer, and always have a few book ideas muddling about in my head, although they never quite make it to paper.

Maybe this might be the correct outlet to finally start writing that book, who knows 🤔

So there we are, me in a nutshell, or just nutty, you make the choice, but uniquely weird and embracing all my weirdness and now subjecting you all to it too

I am thrilled to be here and cannot wait to start an amazing journey and make some amazing friends along the way!!

Lotsa love! mwah

Yeah, the think with Hive posts and even introductions is you never know how much you could earn from them but you will never earn nothing!

A percentage of your content is likely to get notice and sometimes, inexplicably, the less work content gets more notice than the hard work.

Mostly solid, consistent work will result in progress!

Let's see what happens, but you should not sit and watch the value initially. Right now you want to make followers and make your first 10HP. You first need to start gaining momentum.

Welcome to Hive Lee ! 😀

If you enjoy creative writing, this is the perfect place for it ! Most of my posts are in the creative writing communities - Worldbuilding, Scholar and Scribe, Freewriters are the main ones. It's really got me writing again after a bit of a lull.

One of the things I most love about Hive (especially compared to traditional social media) is that it is organised into communities, mostly by interest, meaning you can avoid any toxic or triggering ones (something which I have a real problem with in other places). My favourite way to find interesting communities isn't to look through the list, it's to visit friend's profiles and see which communities they are in that might be interesting.

The most important thing, though is... enjoy ! 😀

Thank you, was actually chatting about writers groups and quite a few you mentioned were also mentioned.

I love writing but honestly most of the time I just consider them Doodles. Nothing serious, and suppose have been told too many time my writing is rubbish.

So I'm quite nervous about putting my writing out there

Doodles are good ! If you like that style, the Freewriters Zapfic prompts (most Mondays & Fridays) are an awesome source of ideas. You get 50 words or 240 characters to tell a story, which is both challenging and amazing amounts of fun.

Hey @thefoxygeeksa! This is @indayclara from the @ocd team. Congratulations and welcome to Hive!

We are delighted to have you here and share us your story. It's my first time meeting someone obsessed with foxes and I think that's so cool! But what I'm excited to read more about from you is your "creative journaling". That seems to be a wonderful process of healing. Anyways, I think you will love these communities: NeedleWorkMonday, ThoughtfulDailyPost, and Sketchbook.

Starting your journey here on Hive can be overwhelming so it's good to do your research and ask around. You can also read: How To Get A Great Start on the Hive Blockchain.

Some things to remember here on Hive:

  1. Make sure to share your future blogs in the appropriate Communities.
  2. If you are looking for tips and information as a Hive newbie, click here.
  3. Plagiarism and any form of abuse is considered a serious offense.

We wish you all the best in your Hive journey!

Hello leandre
Welcome to HIVE you are here !!!!

Its interesting and great that you put your story into a blog and left it here on the blockchain, so welcome, yes welcome to the Hive movement and blockchain. Your first blog is up and on the chain, hope you feel relieved, and not afraid of what is coming your way in the comments. Hope this will be just the same addiction I have with Hive. Addiction, i am Just joking Ofcourse!
We know it can be daunting and frightening because all is new.

But for now the new beginning, you will have fun blogging and vlogging I promise. But in the beginning it’s hard and all is new and maybe you need help. We have amazing people here and a help discord if you need it. I love blogging, and was a newcomer once aswell so i know the feeling. The biggest and best advice is always be carefull with all your passwords, Never give those up !! I speak from experience !

What always is a big help to your account is to try to build and expand it. Be a daily blogger. The best way is to comment / respond on other hivers and their posts, there are so many topics here, you will definitely find a place for your thoughts and brainwaves. There is a place on hive for everything. Maybe create your own niche.

I use @Peakd and @ecency to post to Hive. Both are websites, mobile and desktop application that improves your experience on Hive. If you are interested for Android download : https://android.ecency.com, for iOS: https://ios.ecency.com, for desktop: https://desktop.ecency.com apps that helps you to connect, and that’s what we do here !
You can also earn to promote and boost your content. Again If you are interested https://ecency.com just some extra information in this early start of your journey here! Last hive.blog is an option too. They work well and let me know if you have difficulty.

There are a lot of communities to blog in, besides your own account. Topics can be anything in life and outside the box. Go to the main page of your account and see which one you like and you want to subcribe to. Search in the menu for : COMMUNITIES

Good luck with with hive experience and I Will See you around and may you find here what you are looking for. Just remember that all good things come in good time and never giving up is THE key to the big succes on the Blockchain.

Also you could join the the Terminal discord. Or visit @heyhaveyamet for more new arrivals, newbies exposure in the beginning is very important, and you can always learn from others.
Let me know if this was helpfull or if you need more help, or better see you in Discord
the Terminal.
Here is the invite its free,

Has been lovely to read about you! Welcome to Hive :)
I would love to see more of your art, it sounds so promising, you sound so creative :)
Also I wanna share that I was so happy when I found the term “neuro divergent” Inhave finally integrated it and I use it a lot, as you said, it embraces the differences, being inclusive and respectful.
Good to see you around and looking forward to read more :)

Thank you, it is so lovely to meet a fellow divergent.

Honestly I think I have loved it since the divergent series. It's about not fitting into boxes, and yet the differences being our strengths in a society that sees them as weaknesses :)

I will post some time about my artwork and show some of it. Lol a huge step on its own ;)

Look forward to chatting more.
