Easiest way to tell if a crypto is actually decentralized: work with them.

Countless projects operate like a centralized company with gatekeepers that you need to work with.

If there's no DIY option, it's not decentralized.

Spot on. Tried pitching a collab to one "decentralized" project and hit endless red tape. Meanwhile, true ones let you fork and build solo. Dash gets this right imo

Yep. You can literally become the lead developer/official representative of Dash by downloading the source code and paying a 1-Dash anti-spam fee to the network for a proposal.

In reality you'll have to convince masternodes but it's doable

That's the beauty of it—low barrier to entry means real community governance, not some boardroom BS. Dash's masternode voting keeps it honest without the gatekeepers
