Cowabunga! It was just over 500 years ago today, that the infamous sculpture 'David', was released to the public eye by the one and only - Michelangelo Buonarroti. The solid marble marvel is 17 feet tall and weighs over 12,000 pounds! Can you imagine how long it took to do that? Marble isn't exactly butter. The 'Renaissance Man' has many accomplishments in his career including the masterwork of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. I wonder how big the stone would have been if he chose to carve out Goliath instead?

Being new here, I'm actually hearing about #thealliance for the first time. This is A great idea, this way we get to know more about history as we research for our posts and as we read other posts with the tag.
