Oil Spill in California
Apparently, nobody wants to take responsibility for the cause of the oil spill that has covered miles of the coast in California late Sunday and yesterday. Some 144,000 gallons of oil is littering the water and beaches. The most recent blame is being put on an anchor from a ship? Seriously? Who gives a shit how it happened, we need to stop using oil period. You would think, as these 'spills' get bigger and bigger that people would start seeing some 'sign' that says, "hey, this is not the way", but here I am driving a V-8 hemi. I'm such a fuk'n hypocrite.

It's such a tragedy, that the technology exists to create vehicles that don't run on oil, but they're so expensive they're priced out of most people's budgets. Meanwhile, oil companies get subsidies. Nestle harvests water from the earth and sells it for ridiculous profit, while water protectors are harassed and worse by police who seem to work for the corporations that pollute the earth. And no one wants to take the blame when things go wrong, like this oil spill, or the disaster of pulling out of Afghanistan. Makes me want to blast RATM on every speaker in existence so the world wakes up and says "Fuck you I won't do what you tell me!"
I wonder what human beings will do when there is nothing left and they have totally destroyed the ecosystems, environment and the entire planet?
Until when so much foolishness and hypocrisy of many politicians and businessmen who buy conscience with their power.

Hugs back, I think these 'reduction bills' are all bs because nobody is reducing anything and we'll have to wear masks not because of covid - but because of pollution.
Right now a big problem is that lithium mining is not exactly environmentally freindly either. I would much rather have hydrogen powered cars than gas or electric, there would be far less pollution from the manufacturing and use of them. The technology has been around since the 50's, my great uncle developed a ceramic coating for the cyclinder walls that allowed regular engines to be turned to hydrogen burning, before the fuel cells were developed. One of the huge companies at the time patented it before he could and buried the tech.
Sad really. It's almost equivocal to putting money into the militiary so we can find new ways to kill each other.
