Mrs. Dulce, owner of the pig farm where my sister-in-law works, invited us to walk around and see this beautiful park. We made a picnic basket to eat after our excursion. We were Ana, my sister-in-law; Amanda, my niece; Dulce, the boss and her three grandchildren. We met Maria who was our guide and took us through different routes to get to know the park.

We saw different trees and plants that were preserved by this park and that, like the araucarias, are only found in certain regions of Brazil and Australia. We passed by a lake where there was a "capybara" or "chigüire" that had died strangely. Walking a little more and making some stops to hear the history of some things we found a path of trees that led us to a clearing where there was a bridge over the river.

My sister-in-law, Amanda and I continued walking quietly enjoying the scenery and nature and the children and their grandmother stayed on the bridge. Suddenly we heard screams and Mrs. Dulce's disappointed face appeared to tell us that her grandchildren had thrown her phone into the river. I automatically went back to try to find the phone and with the help of my sister-in-law we got a strange glint in the water that we assumed was the phone. I went down a stretch of rocks and roots to the water below the bridge and started feeling around with my hands until finally, I found it. We returned happy and with good news for Mrs. Dulce, who had already given up on her phone.

Mi cuñada, Amanda y yo seguimos caminando tranquilamente disfrutando del paisaje y la naturaleza y los niños y su abuela se quedaron en el puente. After our adventure we had lunch and went to the museum inside the facilities, I forgot to take a picture because I was so focused on trying to understand and process all the information I was receiving in Portuguese.

Luego de nuestra aventura comimos y fuimos al museo que se encontraba dentro de las instalaciones, olvidé tomar foto porque estaba muy concentrada en tratar de entender y procesar toda la información que recibía en portugués.

Then we went to another route to get to the viewpoint where we could visualize the other trails that were there, but the excursions were stopped on those routes and we returned to our initial point. We played a little with the kids and then headed home.

Después fuimos a otra ruta para llegar al mirador donde podíamos visualizar los otros caminos que habían, pero se encontraban paradas las excursiones por esas rutas y volvimos a nuestro punto inicial. Jugamos un poco con los niños y luego nos fuimos a casa.

I loved getting out and getting to know a small part of this beautiful city and it made me want to keep on getting to know it. There are so many things to explore and discover and that makes me anxious. I will continue working to achieve my stability and economic freedom and to be able to travel with José to all the places we want to visit and thus enrich our knowledge and culture.
