¡Hola chicos! Espero estén muy porque nosotros tuvimos una tarde muy bonita el día de ayer. Fuimos a Maracaibo a hacer unas diligencias y aprovechamos para pasar por las cocadas que están cerca de puente que Maracaibo que son muy ricas y tienen una presentación bien particular.

Hi guys! I hope you are very well because we had a very nice afternoon yesterday. We went to Maracaibo to run some errands and we took the opportunity to stop by the cocadas that are near the Maracaibo bridge, which are very tasty and have a very particular presentation.

Para esta salida escogí un vestido color aguamarina con una franja a lo largo de color fucsia que compré en Brasil. La razón por la cual escogí este color es porque mi cuñada y mi novio me dijeron que me quedaba muy bonito este color. Nunca había utilizado este color y por eso me llamó mucho la atención. El vestido que había escogido era igual a este pero negro y la franja era blanca. Peiné mi cabello largo y me maquille muy suave.

For this outing I chose an aquamarine dress with a fuchsia stripe that I bought in Brazil. The reason why I chose this color is because my sister-in-law and my boyfriend told me that I looked very nice in this color. I had never used this color before and that's why it caught my attention. The dress I had chosen was the same as this one but black and the stripe was white. I combed my long hair and did my makeup very softly.

Mientras viajamos veo por la ventana y me transportan mis recuerdos hace algunos años atrás, cuando aún era niña y mi abuela aún vivía en esta vida. Solíamos viajar "constantemente", con esto me refiero como una vez al mes fechas importantes y navidades visitábamos a mi abuela paterna quien vivía más cerca de nosotros. Vivimos como a una hora y media de esta ciudad y mi papá normalmente estaba trabajando constantemente y veníamos de vez en cuando.

As we travel I look out the window and I am transported by my memories some years ago, when I was still a child and my grandmother was still alive in this life. We used to travel "constantly", by this I mean like once a month on important dates and Christmas we would visit my paternal grandmother who lived closer to us. We lived about an hour and a half from this city and my dad was usually working constantly and we would come here from time to time.

La verdad no recuerdo si vinimos muchas o pocas veces para ser mi abuela, pero estaba muy pequeña. Recuerdo muchas cosas de ella, su cabello hermoso color blanco y corto, su piel delicada y blanca. El olor de su nevera, la cual abría constantemente porque me gustaba mirarla y olerla. Su pesebre lleno de animalitos pequeños e iluminado por luces en las navidades. Su papel de baño rosado, el color del baño que también era rosado. Su talco especial para cuando se bañaba. Su cuarto pequeño y donde la encontraron dormida para siempre en algún momento. Su peinadora llena de fotos de todos sus familiares. Su closet lleno de cajitas de regalos. La vez que me pegó y me puse furiosa, cuando eso pasó dije "Por eso es que mi papá pega tan duro, esta señora tiene fuerza". Recuerdo su casa y la emoción con la que esperábamos al llegar. A mi mamá con un cepillo en su bolso para peinarnos antes de salir al encuentro con la familia. Recuerdo ligeramente como llegar a su casa, es el único lugar al que sé llegar en Maracaibo.

I don't really remember if we came many or few times to be my grandmother, but she was very little. I remember many things about her, her beautiful short white hair, her delicate white skin. The smell of her refrigerator, which I opened constantly because I liked to look at it and smell it. Her manger full of little animals and illuminated by lights at Christmas time. Her pink toilet paper, the color of her bath which was also pink. Her special talcum powder for when she bathed. Her small room where she was found asleep forever at some point. Her comb full of pictures of all her relatives. Her closet full of little boxes of gifts. The time she hit me and I was furious, when that happened I said "That's why my dad hits so hard, this lady has strength". I remember her house and the excitement with which we waited when we arrived. My mom with a brush in her purse to comb our hair before we left to meet the family. I remember slightly how to get to her house, it is the only place I know how to get to in Maracaibo.

Recuerdo a mi abuela de una forma muy bonita y cuando murió me sorprendí y me dolió, pero no lloré como lo haría alguien que vivía con ella y la veía todos los días. No fui a su funeral porque no podíamos pero a pesar de todo la recuerdo como una persona muy linda y llena de alegría. Ella era esa motivación que mi padre tenía día a día cuando era un muchachito para salir adelante y ayudar a sus otros seis hermanitos.

I remember my grandmother in a very beautiful way and when she died I was surprised and hurt, but I didn't cry like someone who lived with her and saw her every day would. I didn't go to her funeral because we couldn't but in spite of everything I remember her as a very nice person and full of joy. She was that motivation that my father had day by day when he was a little boy to get ahead and help his six other siblings.

Pronto llegamos por nuestras cocadas y empecé a comer parte por parte, primero las fresas, luego la lluvia de chocolate y de último la cocada como tal. Tiene un sabor muy delicioso, leche, coco, leche condensada y tal vez tendrá alguna esencia, no lo sé.

Soon we arrived for our cocadas and I started eating part by part, first the strawberries, then the chocolate rain and finally the cocada as such. It has a very delicious flavor, milk, coconut, condensed milk and maybe it will have some essence, I don't know.
