The Hive blockchain has a number of opportunities for investors of the most varied profiles. Blockchain games are no exception and after the meteoric success of games such as Axie Infinity and Splinterlands, to name a few, more and more gamers and investors are looking for the next game that will make it big.

In this section of our dCity SIM guide we'll look at this question from different perspectives to try and help investors make an informed choice regarding dCity SIM.

If this is your first contact with the dCity SIM token, make sure to read the other sections of the guide to better understand the context of this section.

Play to earn is on the rise

Even if you are only looking to invest in the SIM token, it's important to know that dCity is a blockchain game and while it still has not achieved the same level of success as the likes of Splinterlands, there is no denying that play to earn games are getting a lot of attention right now and dCity might as well be the next game to make it big, especially if you consider the number of new users coming to Hive because of Splinterlands. They are mostly gamers so it's not hard to believe that they would be interested in games such as dCity as well.

SIM has use cases other than gaming

SIM is the token of the dCity game and it's needed if you want to play the game itself but even if you only want to approach SIM from an investor perspective, you should know that you can also use it in DeFi by providing liquidity on Tribaldex Diesel Pools.

That will allow you to get some return for holding SIM even if you are not playing dCity at all.

It's cheap to get in right now

Whether you are interested in the game itself or you want to buy some SIM purely as an investment, now may be a good time to do so.

The price of SIM is soft pegged to 0.005 HIVE and, as you can see on the chart below, it's currently trading below that.

This is a good entry opportunity for players and investors who believe in the long term potential of SIM and dCity.

So, should I buy dCity SIM in 2021?

The combination of all the attention that blockchain games are getting, the increasing flow of new users (mostly gamers) brought by Splinterlands and the current low price of the SIM token create a very interesting opportunity for investors looking to add SIM to their portfolio.

As always, it's very hard to predict what is going to happen in the world of crypto so you should treat this, and every other section of our dCity SIM guide as a starting point to make an informed decision.

Do your own research and never invest money you cannot afford to lose.

I love the passive element of dCity.

Yes, it's a game... but I'd say it's more of a gamified DeFi platform.

The sleeping giant of the Hive blockchain!

Well it doesn't seem so bad to buy SIM but I find myself walking away and just taking the SIM my city generates. Though I have been thinking about investing my SIM into the liquidity pool for rewards instead.

That's nice too! I still don't have a city but I'm thinking about starting one

Well I am not so sure if a City is a good idea. I wanted to mint immigrants/homeless but I haven't gotten any in a month so with the high taxes, I don't think my earnings are justified for my city.

started a city but it's not really taking off without any signifcant cards and a startegy, thinking of holding 8k+ sim in a pool to get more sim and hive divs..

Well...you can choose to hold 8k SIM for your 30 day average for HIVE everyday or choose to pool in the tribaldex pool for SIM everyday. It's up to you though.

Hmmm way I understood it's not OR but it works for both:

SIM in the diesel pool still counts for SIM power? for some reason my sim power is always at zero, got 8k pooled now so will see in a month if it does indeed work or not

From what I see, the SIM in the diesel pool does not count for SIM power. You choose either the diesel pool for SIM rewards or HE for the HIVE rewards.

Just saw the official dcitygame post which also states that sim in the pool does actually count towards sim power!
