It's the beginning of a real study!

So yesterday, I had another long chat with my art tutor and he explained to me that to become an exceptional painter, I do not really need to keep making fine drawings but I should spend more of my time on making studies with quick sketches, that way I can easily see my mistakes and correct them and just like that, my lines and shapes would keep "Registering" in my store box.

Below was my first attempt yesterday when he asked me make a quick sketch with just more lines and less shading.

It didn't take me that long to realized that I had made terrible mistake with the proportion of the female figure above and that was exactly what he was saying I would get to see easily and it would be more easier for me to suggest my corrections on time.

He also made quick sketch of the same figure I wasn't able to portray well in terms of proportions. He made his sketch with crucial and detailed explanations and afterwards tried to make amends on my sketch as you can see on the left hand side of the image above.

In the course of yesterday's explanations, he also made the sketch above and I really couldn't explain my love for the sketch. It's just so interesting and with much freedom. Now I know I'm not free with my sketches yet!

Kindly share your thoughts as comments below, I'll be glad to read and reply them all. Thanks.
