LEO-WORDS MADE EASY

avatar

For some weeks now, I have been on to less obvious activities on the chain. Precisely, for most of the time, I have been reading posts in retro. What do I mean? It means past or previously published posts including those of mine. This activity stems from a friend's advice to me in a previous post of mine - Down Vibes, and thank goodness, I tried it out. It was on one occasion that I stumbled on one of @ifarmgirl’s post on LEOGLOSSARY.

It was upon reading the post that I realized that it was a project by @taskmaster4450le (TM). I must say this if you need up-to-date information and things even yet to exist on the Hive chain 😁, his posts are good sources of them. That is one great job I admire him for. At times, I even wonder how he gets them but I am just glad he does!

TM defined Leoglossary as...

Basically it is using the immutable text storage feature of the Hive blockchain to help create a database of financial and cryptocurrency terms.

Source

Obviously, when I saw it, the words in there directly gave me a raw meaning to it. You must have heard of Leo (from Leofinance) and glossary, which is basically a dictionary that entails finance-related text or words.

Now, to the essence of this post...

You may ask that perhaps I should have posted this in the leofinance community but why here? The Hive Learners community is keen on affairs of newbies on the Hive. Even though I do not think there are age grades here but the survival of all is also paramount.

For me, I see the leoglossary as one which will make and/or help newbies understand elements of posts in the Leofinance community and the finanicial work at large. Speaking from my experience, there are times when I try to read some posts and I’d end up getting more confused than ever. Or if I was determined to get acquainted with the jargon in there, it will require me to open a separate tab on my Chrome browser and start to look up the meanings one after the other. More often than not, I get tired after checking or the tabs get too much (If you are using the latest Chrome browser where you can group some tabs as one, you'd understand).

Well, instead of doing that – which maybe even cut one’s attention span – the @leoglossary has come to help. You can check it out here. The glossary list is one that is not static, it is been updated from time to time. Well, totally unrelated but time is money.

In the same vein, there are some sub-sections that are specific to certain corresponding topics in there. This includes, but not limited to, BankGlossary and SplinterGlossary for texts and topics relating to banks and Splinterlands respectively.

Using The Leoglossary

1)Go to the Leoglossary Main Menu.

2)Scroll down to the word you seek meaning to.

3)Click it and learn.

For example,

A car is an asset that experience depreciation as the year goes by.

Let's check for depreciation.

4)If you’d like to go back to get some more words, click the Main Leoglossary Menu link at the bottom of that post.

5)Start to utilize the link when you write a finance-related post like that in the example given.

6)Smile and cheers to your newly found knowledge.

I believe the leoglossary is a tool to assist
people who have little or no knowledge on cryptocurrency term and abbreviation. It's good you've gotten yourself acquainted to terminologies.

I literally really don't understand all these financial jargons as you have called it, but hope to learn it sometime.
Are you saying Leoglosary will help me get basic and secondary knowledge of what I need to know about crypto?
