Being planting season, I hurried back to the village to check on the seeds my mom and I planted days ago. Unfortunately, I didn't document that part due to reasons I can't recall now.

Anyway, my babies have sprouted! We planted corn, okra, potatoes, cocoyam bbhand some African pumpkin seeds, and they all look really healthy.

I was overjoyed to see them thriving, but also a bit sad knowing I won't get to eat the corn at harvest time since I'll be at school. Just like last year.

Mom mentioned she'd send some over anyway but I asked her not to. Transporting them to where I live would be a hassle and expensive, plus I might not have the time or energy to cook them.

To be honest, I find cooking exhausting when I'm at my house. I love homemade meals, but after a busy day at school, I usually opt for meals on campus. When I get home, I prefer to shower, read, and sleep instead of looking for what to cook.

I just wanted to share how well my seeds have grown into healthy plants. It excites me to see them at this stage; they're so adorable to look at. I'd love to stay and care for them more, but I have a side hustle to attend to.

This plant here is medicinal. My mom specializes in herbs, and I had to persuade her to tell me about this particular one. I've forgotten the local name she mentioned as it was kinda difficult to pronounce but she said it helps cure internal heat illness in the human body. She gave it to me once when I had suffered from the illness, and it worked. I prefer herbs to conventional pharmaceutical drugs, to be honest.

That's all about my garden update. There are some medicinal plants around the house that I'd love to share here as well, but I guess that'll be for another day when my mom will be happy to share her secrets with me. Hehehe.

Do you know the name of the medicinal plant? Please share in the comments. Thank you.🌺
