Language conflict

Have you ever gotten into a heated argument with someone that doesn't understand your local language nor does he or she understand or speak English?

I went to the mall today and I met this lady, there was a queue for people with few items and so I had to wait for my turn. There was this lady in front of me waiting to pay too all of a sudden, she left the line and went to check out other goods she saw on the shelves that looked attractive.

She was supposed to be next to pay after the guy that stood in front of her but since she wasn't there, I had to take her place and pay for mine. Immediately I dropped the goods on the counter for scanning, this lady rushed back from wherever she was and shifted my goods away angrily. I asked her why in a very polite manner but she responded with a language that I've never heard in my life.

I didn't understand what she was saying so I just asked the cashier to carry on with what she was doing but the lady refused. She kept pushing my goods and saying things that sounded like curses. I also spoke my own language which she didn't understand and that was it oh! We stood there speaking in tongues while others paid for their goods and left.

When the argument of tongues got heated, the security guards came and carried us both outside so we could fight there and not inside their mall. You needed to see how they lifted us like we were mere empty sacks. I was even glad they took us outside lest I get pushed by the lady and before I knew it, something very expensive would have broken and then I'll have to clean the mall for months as pay back.

How can we both be talking or should I say arguing when we both don't understand ourselves especially the fact that she couldn't speak English. At least that'd have helped us both to know what we're saying to our ancestors. It was sad but I didn't want to stop first so she didn't feel she had won. We continued the argument, and I found a place to sit comfortably and talk.

Her face turned red as mine was as strong and annoyed as ever. She should have stood behind me if she really wanted to pay for her goods, was she thinking I should have waited for her to come back from wherever she went before paying for my goods? I felt she's just the troublesome type who coincidentally met a troublesome me.

When she realized that her Uber driver was getting upset and her charges were increasing every minute she stood to speak what I didn't understand, she left without the goods but I went back into the mall and got my goods. Everyone in there was just looking at me and I felt like poking their eyes.

People just can't mind their business. They'll be looking as if they gave me the strength to talk with a lady whom I didn't understand what she was saying. I don't even know if she was cursing my generation. The whole thing got funny when I went back home and narrated to my people they were laughing and wishing someone had recorded the drama. Lol
