I don't know how I managed to watch this series to the end without getting so pissed at its pacing and storyline. My hopes were too high on this one just because Netflix talked about it on their Facebook page. Of course it's their production so why wouldn't they huh?

I am a romance freak but that doesn't mean romance should be the main focus of any film these days. After lots of boring talks and pretense from the protagonists, the last few episodes finally entailed the story of their love and fight which pissed me off. I've been meaning to ask, can't a romance story be complete without the couples fighting each other and making up? This movie had no real action, no real drama or even suspense. Just some boring characters; smoking, drinking, walking home from school and eating here and there.

This is why I'd prefer fantasy to an everyday life type of film. Fantasy always has something new, something unpredictable, something fascinating. Doona is not interesting as Netflix hyped it. Trust me I went under the comment section to let them know the series sucks. My heart breaks whenever I think of how highly I trusted Netflix with this film until I spent almost a day watching it only to discover that it lacks the least thing as meaning.

The romance was good though. It makes you feel things while thinking of that ex that put your heart on a show and suddenly took it down only to break it into pieces. Apart from the romance, trust me, everything else is crappy.

Some psychological events that were revealed to the audience at the beginning were cut out in the ending without any meaningful explanation. I hate a film with slow pacing that makes me guess my way through it.

Worse of it all is how it ended. The two lovers whom the story revolved around, Lee Doona and Won-jun, after being apart for years due to the nature of Doona's career, met again and made up for the years apart. But in the ending, they went separate ways again which left me soliloquizing on what the actual heck happened. Did they make up to forgive each other and move on? Is there something still going on between the two of them? Are they still pissed at each other for some dumb reason?

Anyway, I got no answer to those questions. I was left hanging as the film came to an end. There's no season 2 anywhere, nor are there more episodes after the 9th. Till Netflix is able to answer my pending questions, Doona sucks.

Her singing career, which she abandoned, had no relevant explanation as to why she really did abandon it. At some point she said she felt free and on the other, she's humming a song and misses singing. Lmfao. I guess they were making another GenZ film where romance is paramount. I don't know who advised them that my generation doesn't appreciate good action, mind blowing drama and prolly some sprinkles of romance here and there.

I'm rating this film a ⅖. It isn't worth the hype at allmy opinion

A blissful new year to y'all. Have a good one✨.
