Ladies of Hive Community Contest #146: Fun Things I Did Recently

image.png

I have been working from home for more than eight years now. It really suits me as I'm more of a homebody and I really dislike commuting. However, there are some downsides to it. I seldom go out and have a social life. Well, my friends sometimes come over, so we could catch up and have some fun together.

Sometimes, my parents would worry about me because I just stay at home most of the time. It's funny how they want to see me go out and have some fun, but it's actually me who refuse and choose to just chill at home. My introvert side is dominating most of the time. I love talking with people, though... so I really enjoy my job as an online ESL instructor. I get to know people from various places and also learn their culture from the four corners of my room. I just love staying at home even when I'm not working.

It changed last Sunday, though. My father convinced me to go with him to the gun and other firearm-related tradeshow. He knows that I'd be as interested as him because we usually talk about these stuff including his days in the service. I always enjoy his stories and I'm very curious about weapons and related stuff. And so I agreed. :)

I made a whole post about it HERE.

I really had a great time in the tradeshow. I saw a bunch of interesting things and also learned more about them. Aside from the tradeshow, papa and I also went to the Sky Park (A garden or park on top of the shopping mall) despite the heat. I really wanted to take pictures there. Photography is also one of the things I'm passionate about even though I just use my phone. Allow me to share some of the shots I took at the Sky Park here.

This is my father. :) I'm actually really grateful that he convinced me to go with him last Sunday. It was a nice change of scenery for me.

It was such a fine day!!! The color of the sky is so vivid. <3

This is my kind of fun. Despite the heat, I had a great time looking at the scenery and taking photos. It also helps that there weren't a lot of people yet. It's around lunch time, so most of the people are inside the mall or some restaurants.

In this part of the park, there were some kids playing and some people relaxing under the shade. It's hot, but windy so it was quite comfortable.

My eyes feasted on this view the most. Even though there's a construction site in front, but I just like looking at the serene blue seas and the vast skies. The bridge also look really attractive.

After spending time with my father last Sunday, I realized how much I actually needed it. It was quite a nice change. We bought some snacks and cakes for mama before heading home. It was a very well-spent Sunday.

I want to see the sea again... hopefully, in the countryside with my family... someday!!! <3

You are so right, there are pros and cons to everything. I feel like I'm falling into this category too, but every time I make an exception and try to be social, I find that I'm taking on external stress from others.
It's just finding the balance, I suppose.
Great photos and it sounds like you has a great time:)))

Finding the balance is always challenging...
I thought my "usual" was the best, but going out from time to time was actually quite refreshing. :)
I'm glad you like them... and I did have an awesome time.
Thank you!!!!

Looks like an excellent time, and I just saw that bridge on a video yesterday about unusual bridges, so now I'm going to have to find it again, the area is beautiful.
Thank you for your entry @tegoshei!

Nope, I messed up, the one I saw was one of the highest bridges in the world, it had the same type of suspension. Where exactly is this bridge? Or, what is the name of that river? If you can get me a little info from that area, I would like to look it up. What country is that in?
This is the one I was looking at yesterday:

the time stamp is at 5:36.

Ohh... it does look similar. :)
The one in my picture is called CCLEX in Cebu, Philippines. And it's the third bridge connecting Cebu to Mactan Island. :)
