The Witcher 3 Saga: The Fall Of The Witch Hunters

Well Hello There Fellow Gamers And Hivers!

In the last episode of The Witcher 3 Saga Geralt was all over the place, he did some contract work and delved deeper and deeper into what might have happened to Djikstra's treasure. All the "treasure hunting" led to quite a number of characters that I never thought it would lead to.

After a chat with Djikstra he pointed me to a certain man named Vernon Roche who was his informant and somehow this Vernon Roche character was tied with Whoreson Junior albeit the connection was barely hanging on by a thread. I went with Vernon Roche to meet up with this contact of his and turns out we met a different person all together.

Radovid the king of Redania, I'm surprised he didn't have us killed.

Might be he has other uses that we still need to fill.

Tying Some Old Knots.

I was left with two seemingly good choices, I could either go and rat Whoreson Junior out of his rats nest where he has been held up thanks to Radovid for giving me that little juicy piece of information or I could seal the lid on some older jobs that I've not had the time to get to.

Djikstra's Treasure.

It's no mystery that Djikstra's gold has had me running all around Novigrad jumping from one lead to the next and by the time I knew it I was following different trails than the one's I started off with so before this game of strings gets too big of a mess I'll be cutting some of them loose.

Here I am finding myself back in the slums of a city.

The last lead I got led me to Margrave Henckel's house but it seemed to be more of a gutter house than an fancy town house.

A good sign non the less, it should have been mostly avoided by everyone.

There wasn't much to go off at first sight but as I went through everything that was strewn around the place I did realize some sort of riddle game.

All I could do was play the riddle and in all honesty it wasn't a very thought out riddle as I solved it easily.

The riddle involved a wine bottle and a birth year and after placing it back into the correct spot on the wine stand. As far as stories go there was a satisfying click somewhere in the next room.

A wall turns into a doorway.

In the hidden room there was clear evidence that the bomb that was used to blow the wall beneath Djikstra's bathhouse has indeed been built in this very house, I found almost all of the ingredients in the hidden room along with a similar contained that the explosive materials was packed into.

There was a worrying letter left behind though, one that Dudu wrote. So now we know that Dudu, Ciri and Dandelion have been working together all this time.

Djikstra's Trust.

Before I could leave the derelict town house and dive even deeper in my search for Djikstra's gold he was waiting for me downstairs.

It would seem that Djikstra thinks I am hiding something. Now to be honest I am hiding something from him but giving him the information that I am hiding from him won't help him find his gold any sooner at all.

I'm hiding the fact that Dandelion stole his treasure with the aid of Dudu and Ciri. The thing is they didn't have the gold anymore so there really isn't any need on handing over the names of the perpetrators the only thing left to do now is find who has the gold.

From what I could piece together Menge was the last known suspect to have had Djikstra's gold. None other than the commander of the Witch Hunters.

It would seem that Triss Merigold's payment would come with a little bit of vengeance as well.

The Sorceress Triss Merigold.

Before we could even try and pin down Menge we had to do some proper planning and scouting. Things didn't look to be on our side at all.

Menge's hideout was pretty much a fortress within a fortress and fighting our way in and out would not help one bit not unless we can get as close to Menge as possible.

Triss Merigold had a plan up her sleeve although it was a dangerous one. She would play a prisoner captured by me and I would be bringing her in for my reward. That might even bring us face to face with Menge himself!

Well I'm sure that this comes to no surprise but the plan was only half a success!

Geralt isn't much of a barter to begin with a bartering with witch hunters is already a hard thing to do in it self!

They allowed us entrance but they wanted to have their own way with Triss Merigold and even if this was a real hand in I would not have allowed it.

Before long the air was set ablaze by fire and blood soaked the earth.

I had to start cutting and I had to do it fast, there were a lot of these witch hunters but it was nothing that I've never dealt with.

Honestly I don't know what these witch hunters were thinking at all.

Challenging a Witcher and a Mage at the same time? The odds would have never fallen in their favour.

Before they really knew what was going on we were setting the place on fire one explosion after the next!

Caleb Menge had absolutely no where to run!

With Blade In Hand!

I found Menge waiting for me in his quarters with sword in hand ready to fight!

We all knew he wasn't much of a talker or debater in the first place, he knew how to deal with his problems with cold sharp steel clutched between his fingers.

I gave him what he wanted and that was a fiery end! I kicked open the door and engaged with Igni sending a wave of fire over and through him!

After all that is how he did business!

Menge decided to rather have no head than a thoughtfull and meaningfull conversation with a damned Witcher.

This however is somewhat of a problem for Geralt since now that Menge has no head he can't speak and spill the words of where he hid the treasures.

We did scour through his notes and his body and we found some pretty promising information although no treasures other than a key sewn into the lining of his pants.

A key to a vault by the looks of it.

Covering The Bloody Trail.

It's no secret that the whole town would be on the lookout for whoever just murdered a whole garrison full of witch hunters. It's also no secret that there are only a handfull of people capable of doing this and mostly everyone knew who they were in the Free City of Novigrad.

So before we left we had to get rid of any evidence left behind.

What better way to rid of evidence than to set it all ablaze?_

The witch hunters garrison was barely on fire when Djikstra had me pulled out of there to come speak with him.

Undoubtedly the man is angry with Geralt very angry to say the least and for good reason as well. He wants his gold of-course.

Coming to him empty handed wasn't exactly the best idea but I could however hand him the key for a vault we found, I think he was more relieved to hear that his gold wasn't burning along with the witch hunters.

The trail is growing narrower with each passing day.
