Well Hello There Fellow Gamers And Hivers

Jumping back into The Witcher 3 like it's going out of style. I do have to say I noticed that the new graphics update is really packing the punch on my laptop 😂 I mean it isn't that bad at all but it does tend to get annoying from time to time. I won't be adding a video in today's post because it seems to be frozen for the first 17 minutes and a few seconds at the end are cut off but at-least I can use the rest of it and it wont affect much of the story, I think.

I'll be tweaking and lowering the graphics next time to see if it might make some change to the smoothness and video recording problems.

In the last post from the The Witcher 3 Saga. I had to find out what the Baron knew but first of all i had to find out who he was! This led me on a slightly different path through a small village named Heatherton where I needed to find someone by the name Hendrik.

Unfortunately upon arriving at the village I was too late, the Wild Hunt had already passed through here also looking for Hendrik he was brutally tortured and most of the village was executed. Except for one, one they always keep alive to tell the tale.

I managed to find some very valuable information tucked away in between this Hendrik's ledger notes that suggested that he was also looking for Ciri. I wonder what he wanted with Ciri? I suppose finding out is out of the question now.

Chasing hard to get to The Baron I came past a house that was taken over by some deserters, not knowing to what side they belonged I made quick and short work of them. They were in over their heads, I mean as all men would be seeing an old grey headed man coming by, it oughta look like easy prey wont it?

All they did was add some extra coppers in the pocket of an "Old Man."

Screenshot 2023-03-05 113050.png

Finding The Baron after the roadside thugs proved to be an easier journey after that. Now the question is how would The Baron feel seeing me inside his castle's walls? I did kill a few of his men at the crossroads a while back.

My reputation certainly exceeds me in some cases.

Screenshot 2023-03-05 114630.png

Naturally the moment I stepped through those gates the peasants ran for their houses and barred the doors, I am most certainly not a welcoming sight over here. All but one old frail man scurried away. Needless to say the old man proved to be of more help than most in this damned excuse of a castle.

For a few coppers he was willing to give away some information on how to get into the courtyard of the castle, since the guards barred it off I was unable to get in with any conventional way.

And as always with hidden pathways comes the thrill of the hidden dangers!

I had to fight off some Waterhag living in the the lower depths of the well. She made for easy prey, one less monster to deal with ey?

Screenshot 2023-03-05 125434.png

Well The Baron knew straight away who I was and what I've done, yet he decided to let us speak first and then he shall decide what to do with me, or so he thinks. None the less I shall hear what he has to say.

Of-course it's never what we want, he knows about Ciri but he wants a favour for a favour as all men do when meeting a Witcher.

He wants me to find his wife and daughter who are also missing the last few days, yet I doubt that they were attacked or abducted I think this is more a situation of running away but I shall do my part for the sake of Ciri.

The Start of Ciri's Story

So we finally began with the story of Ciri.

This outta get good!

I woke in a dense forest, a dark and murky one at that and one that definitely has something lurking that would have at me the first glance they get.

Getting out of here was vital!

Screenshot 2023-03-05 130111.png

Well what do you know, I didn't have to wander very far before meeting some sort of danger, I followed the river bank and soon came down some wolves that trapped a young girl in a tree, if I had to do anything that was to help her.

Screenshot 2023-03-05 130801.png

It turns out the little girl was always full of questions, a wise young one.

She set off into the woods with her father and then saw a butterfly, a butterfly is this wretched place? Well she then wandered off and lost her way. It seems we are both a little lost now. But now at-least I can find out in what general direction we can head.

She also mentioned something of a Wolf King, I suppose that is something to look out for.

Screenshot 2023-03-05 131031.png

Naturally we started making preparations for when we would encounter this King of Wolves I made a poisonous potion that I dipped my blade into. That outta give us the upside to this King of Wolves.

It wasn't long before we encountered him in a cave we had to pass through, only this was no King of Wolves it was merely a Werewolf one that I had to end. It didn't seem to put up much of a fight, but I suppose Cir has grown stronger than I first thought.

Screenshot 2023-03-05 131354.png

This in turn led Ciri to end up with The Baron. The one she rescued from the Werewolf was one of The Baron's men and offered her his lord courtesy of staying in his castle and getting some fresh food!

Everything seems to be falling into place now.

Screenshot 2023-03-05 131727.png

After a lengthy chat with The Baron I was able to get even more information on Ciri although I had to set out to do the favours The Barons asked me off before he was willing to spill any information on Ciri.

I am setting off to find a so called Pellar that his daughter seemed to have dabbled with. It is said that he was once a ruthless killer who struck and killed his own father with an axe. Now it is said that he is a madman talking to ghosts and bedding goats.

I suppose I will soon find out which of the two he is now.

I've been interested in this game for a long time, mostly because of the trajectory it has had since its release and the style of the game, you can see that you need power in a PC to play it well. Greetings my friend

You do, especially with the graphics update. Not that bad but it does take some processing power.

You should add it to watchlist on steam, it goes on sale quite often perhaps you can grab it for alot cheaper but its frikkin good

This is a game to play for the music and the scenery alone, man, so enjoy it as much as you can. I heard the new graphics update is awesome, even if I can't experience it I can tell from the photos and videos I've seen on youtube. I'm waiting for the next chapter.

The new update is taking its toll on the pc 😂😂 you can believe that...

You have no idea how much I want to play this game on full graphica just to experience the environment! Its insane... Even the hair of Geralt has physics like each hair strand!

Thanks alot @incublus!

I hope everything is better on your side of the world??

I'll be tweaking and lowering the graphics next time to see if it might make some change to the smoothness and video recording problems.

What's your bitrate for recording? It might be set to low, and what GPU are you running?

Also have you read any of the books? If not you're missing out especially when it comes to Ciri's story!

Laughs I'm not sure what the bitrate is, but I think it must be cuz of the graphics update! Running a 1660 TI nothing great..

I am planning on taking a dive into the books, currently busy with the GoT books and then over to the LoTR saga... Then it's witcher for sure!!!!

ASOIF is really good and 100x better then the show! I wasn't a huge fan of LOTR books because I found they were too slow paced!

If you're running obs head into your settings go to output and go to the recording tab! I was having an issue with recording once I started out (mostly face paced games) and fixing the Bitrate helped!

A thing to remember is the higher the bitrate the larger the file will be!

Yeahhh I'm on the second book now and I've got a few left to read still, I like how some stuff plays out differently in the books than the series, like where Jon let iggridd go instead of them getting lost like in the series... And the battle of black water bay is way different in the books...

The LoTR I only bought because it was hella cheap and the books look cool... And i love the fantasy stories so we shall see if I like the actual reading of it.

Ill give the settings a look over the weekend, because it never had problems perhaps something changed

Jon and Igrrid's relationship in the book is so much better then the show! I'm not going to spoiler anything, but she has more of an impact on book Jon than she did with tv Jon!

You'll probably really enjoy book 3 ( I forget if that's a storm of sword or a clash of kings) as that's when things really kick off! A feast for crows is kinda meh but it introduces Lady Stoneheart!
