The Unimaginable!

Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!

Before I start this one of I have to say this is going to be a little different than the usual!

I'll be talking more about what I saw and my feelings based around the vehicle and how people think, basically it's just going to be a epic freewrite! With that said, what I am about to share with you today made me sick to the core! Laughs it really shouldn't but it did!

Really it was yucky beyond what I've ever experienced!

This is it!

Don't get me wrong guys I've done quite a few transmissions that had water mixed in with the oil but this, this is beyond what I've ever seen!

The funniest part of all this is that the vehicle was still able to drive! I can not believe that! No.... I refuse to believe that!

But it did though!

For those that are unsure at what they are looking, that is water and oil mixed up together. The problem we have here is a big one! A very big one. I say this because the cooling system provides cooling to both the motor and the transmission. Yeah the motor also has this gunk in the cooling system! Terrifying right!

A Lot came Out But Even More Stayed Behind!

We have more than one problem on our hands now and that is getting the cooling system sorted and cleaned out before we can fit the transmission and have the vehicle moving again.

This all sounds very simple if you look at it on paper but in actuality it's a bit of a Fuckup!

See there is no point in removing the radiator and sending that in to be cleaned because the moment we start the vehicle we would just be sending whatever was stuck in the motor through the radiator!

So we came up with a genius plan! We would fill up the cooling system and then dump a liter of degreaser in there and drive it around for thirty or so minutes, then we would detach the lower radiator pipe and let the entire system drain and we did that five times until the water came out relatively clean.

Only then did we throw in some anti-freeze.

It's A Throw Away!

We can save a lot of things, but this simply isn't worth saving. It just isn't.

let me recap a little, so we did the flushing on the motor hey that's one thing but some of that gunk was thicker than yoghurt. Odd comparison but it was it was like a paste inside the pipes. We had to scoop it out it didn't fall out all by it self.

So if we can't even get the thick pipes clean how on earth would we be cleaning this from all the gunk? I mean we could always try but why do a job twice when you can do it once?

We picked out a complete different transmission and decided to put this one aside, at-least for now. We already know the valve body is going to be a catastrophic mess because it got water and the computer is blown for a fact because it also got water!

Just write this off and let's get on with it!
I suppose there is a first time for everything after all!

I am not very knowledgeable about mechanics, but I was curious to know the origin of this failure.
