The Hunt For The Bulls: Wednesday Walk

Well Hello There Fellow Hivers!

IT'S WEDNESDAY MAH DUDES!

Well what will we bring forth today? Since it's too damn cold to actually enjoy a thorough walk outside let alone to take some photos, no thanks I'd rather stick my hands in my pockets and go for a walk. As always I'll be digging into some past walking experiences I had!

A few weeks ago I wrote a post about where I was on a farm just outside of town and that we had to go on a search for the sheep and chase them back home. Well Covid-19 made for many adventures and I am far from done with them!

This time around we had to find the cattle and chase them back to the barn! This adventure doesn't have that much photos in it but it has some nice ones... That's if your fond of cattle. 😂

If you zoom in on this picture one can see the many sheep we chased back to the farm house in the previous post. Now I wonder why they didn't stray away so far this time around.

Well needless to say we left them behind and everything with it in search of the cattle this time! Can you believe it, running a farm sure ain't just about fooling around. On top of that, animals... well animals can be sly in their tricks sometimes. We think that they are just mindless creatures roaming the earth but oh no... I think we have it wrong, oh so very wrong. Whenever I look at our horses this speculation of mine just gets more reinforced by the day!

We weren't given a whole lot of information by the old man, simply a "Use that as a land mark and walk until you find the green water tank, mayhap that they are there. One can always find missing animals close to or where the water is.

Naturally the negative being that I am thought at first yeah yeah, we never get lucky but we have the first course set and are already on the plot, might as well see it through right. Where else would we start.

Damn this farm is huge though, there's obviously some majorly big farms out there but this one I can't see the end of.

The amazing thing about farm life is that you can just be out and about and enjoy the nature around you if you're only able to watch but to really watch you'll see some amazing things!

There was one time on our farm, I woke up real early the morning drove up to the farthest and highest point of the farm to catch the sunrise and enjoy it thoroughly as it rose, not half way through the rise from the start till it's shining bright over the horizon and I'll tell you it was more than worth it. As soon as the sun peeked over the horizon I saw the animals starting their days! Meerkatte, Porcupines, Warthog's you name it all of them started to move around.

Okay once again I'm drifting away and off topic!

A little birds nest out in the fields by the dam on the farm.

Well Well Well, It Would Seem Old Men Tell A Tale True!

It would seem we found them right there at the water, not one... not two but all of them along with a few birds as well coming to indulge on the juice of life!

They did look a bit curious as to why we would come venturing so far out to get them! Laughs!

Usually when the word cattle is thrown around the picture of a ugly snot nosed bull comes up right? Well this bull is quite formidable in his own way! Look how damn healthy this one looks! The pelt, the hairs, the horns... and most of all no snot nose. 🤣

He was big, certainly bigger than it's looking in the photograph!

To tell it true they weren't particularly fond of going back home, I think we spent around 20 minutes waiting for them to finish drinking more and more water. Not entirely sure if they put up a show in hopes of us getting bored and leave them behind but we didn't and eventually they got fed up and headed homewards.

It was a slow walk from there on wards but at-least we had the company of bulls and the enjoyment of being out in the open fields being able to feel the wind gush around you.

Life's not always all bad hey, we should just try to see the greatness in things!

This little calf found a interest in me for some reason, might be he isn't all that use to my smell. Whatever it was I would have liked to pet him a little but he was skeptical of me. Everytime I took a step forward he took two steps back, so I decided to leave him.

Ironic thinking about it now he's probably been cut up and eaten years ago. 🤣

Dark but true.
