The Cost Of Neglect.
Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!
Misdiagnosed.
So we've recently had this car here that's been giving us problems!
Of-course it will be a Volkswagen it's almost always one of these Volkswagens!
Anyways, so the problem we had was that the gear selector number 2 couldn't be regulated and that almost always points towards the megatronics of the vehicle and hence the reason we only worked on the megatronics.
Well Bossman has a friend that works for Audi and he was here the one day and we asked him what he thinks might be the cause and he pointed out that it could be the fork itself being broken.
You Have To Look!
See the black little block? Well it is supposed to have a slider working with is with little ball bearings inside it.
Now that little sleeve with the ball bearings in are just gone, simply vanished.
Well probably not vanished but drained along with the oil and thrown out most likely!
Well what this means is that I have to remove the entire transmission! But that's okay! Let's get going!!
And!!!!! She's Out!
Fortunately for me these are fairly easy transmissions to remove, a little pesky at times but fairly straightforward!
They aren't really automatics if you ask me and these in between transmission that don't really know what they want to be... Well they tend to break!
OOhhh but what is that I notice!
The Bright Blue Of Temper.
It seems like the regulation fork isn't the only thing buggered up in this transmission!
Nah it's almost always the case, there are more underlying problems with these things that can't be picked up except by removing the transmission and doing manual inspections!
This guy will need a clutch! Too bad.. and they are hella expensive!
The Cost Of Neglect!
Never think you are smarter than the system, they designed the system to make money for them!
Don't slack up at all!
Keep doing what needs to be done on vehicles otherwise you'd have a build up of problems and a wallet that ain't full enough to support it!
See I doubt he will be spending more money on his car since we've already done water pump on it... Yeah it's going to start adding up now!

I always get the fear because my gears are a little bit sticky at times when changing and my car is ancient but sometimes it is alright so I am just gonna keep getting it services and pray the old beast lives another year or two!
See the thing is they rarely service transmissions 🤣 unless you ask for that... oil changes on motors are suppose to be done every 10k -20k (KM) and transmissions are up 60k to 80k but I've never seen a transmission service schedule in any maintenance book 🤣
Probably why business is so damned good 🤣
The older your car the less likely it is to break down, we call them shitboxes 🤣🤣 they can take any kind of shit🤣🤣
