A Thing Of Beauty That Fails To Attract.

Well Hello There Hivers!

Oh how the tables have turned!

Well not exactly laughs! I've just always wanted to use that sentence and now I use it when it's the least appropriate! But still.

A few weeks back I shared some photographs I took of Olden Goldie and Classic cars, you know vehicles that would be considered antiques. Oh and the best part of those were that they still drove their commuting routes! That was mind blowing in it self not to add that they were well maintained!

Well today I have a few that you absolutely have to maintain and if you don't well then you are somewhat on the short side of being sharp. I'd say so, but then again money can't buy you a few extra braincells, that is a little unfortunate I'm sorry!

A Thing Of Beauty, Yet It Fails To Attract.

Now don't get me wrong, it does catch my eye. They are beautifull and they are even rarer to find, where I'm from seeing cars like this makes you wonder why the people driving them stay in this little place smack dead in the center of it all, what no one seems to be realizing is the fact that our town is slowly dying. It has been for years, okay anyways let's get back to reality!

Basically all I'm trying to say is that, if I had the money for this or perhaps might have the money for this someday. I would not buy this or any other sports car for that matter, no. I'm not just saying this because I can't afford this but more from the view of working on vehicles.

But to each his own right.

I don't care that much for the mainstream rich bitch car life, but I do like the oddities that come with them. Every now and then you spot something that not everybody has, well this is not that.

Sorry to disappoint. 😂

This Must Be What I Mean!

Okay before everyone goes haywire on me now for saying this is better...
Well this is better.

Okay let me explain my point of view.

Yes I know the car is a fraction of the price compared to both the Porsche and the Ferrari but it's something different, something that I've not seen driving around. Odd as it sounds you should remember that most people with the means to move that amounts of cash around and not feel it want people to see it, they might not even enjoy how that specific vehicle handles and drives for them personally. They just buy to show...

Where as some people buy what they fancy on their own eyes and on how they feel when they look, get or drive in that vehicle. It's a thing, really it is.

You know that saying of becoming one with the vehicle.

Damn this is beautifull! It's fine though people can hate on me for picking a frikkin Mazda over a Porsche or a Ferrari.

Then There's This.

Now this is something that is beautifull and attracts! With more features on the attract side!

Looks like there was a Mustang in front of her!

Again I'm just too baffled that all the tags on these vehicles are from this state, I'd have thought most of them to be either from The Cape or Gauteng.

I have to add that there are a select few cars that I'd be willing to buy new (If I could afford those luxurious vehicles of course, but if I could) but they are few, otherwise if money wasn't a problem I would just build myself the meanest beast machine the roads have ever seen. Then you'll be the only of that kind on the road!

There's a lot more that I took but I think I'm going to cut it right here and end it with this one. Otherwise I'd just be adding photos and trying to pull words out for them, let's skip that.

Now these...

These are something I can tell a million stories about! The "Golfies," boy oh boy do people in South Africa admire these things. Myself not so much, but this one is well taken care of I will have to add that!

I'm not sure what people abroad know of South Africa and neither do I know if most of them even know this vehicle at all, it's almost near ancient, not that much but getting closer as the years go by.

I think I heard something or read something of the sorts. The reason that these are still so widely seen in South Africa is because when these were discontinued they were still sold in South Africa because we had so many bodies in the factories that we could continue the trend for years after they were removed. Something of the sort, might be why we see so little of the models that came after the Golf's, they weren't out long enough before the new trend started again.

It Really Is Slick Though!

Growing up, I desperately wanted such a golfie. White with black rims or something. Man, that would have been awesome. I think I was in high school when they gave the news that they were discontinued. Such a sad day for me hahah. Awesome shots btw! Thanks for sharing.

They were a big thing 😂 they still are depending on who you ask.

Although now it's more of a common thing with all these oaks dropping the vehicles 😂 and those who drive them think they are the fastest vehicles on the road 😂

I often hear and see them on the road! And every time I envision myself in them driving to the tunes of my favourite music haha. I am sure they still are! And I am sure the pristine condition ones will fetch a pretty penny.

Nothing better than a Golf mk2 lol. That's a pretty nice one too. When I turned 18 pretty much everyone in my friend group had something like that and it was awesome! Wouldn't say no to the GT-R either though if I had to choose :D

I guess it was more of a relatively cheap car we could buy at an early age. Then of course try to customize it into looking somewhat good. I had a Vento myself. Loved it!😂

Most still think they are the man driving them around here 😂😂

For some weird reason it feels like they were only a thing where I'm from 😂😂
