RE: Why so much empty space in London?

Hey - nice post! I love the fact that there are lots of open spaces in London.
I'm in North London and there are 5 or 6 very large parks/open areas within a short bike ride to go to with my son, some of which people not from our area of London may never even have heard of. Here's a few of our favourite large green spaces, all under 30 mins bike ride away:
- Arnos Park (huge with a beautiful viaduct with the underground railway running over it)
- Broomfield Park (3 separate ponds with ducks and geese!)
- Alexandra Palace park/gardens (amazing views of London)
- Lordship Recreation Ground (cool mini roadway system for kids to practice on plus a BMX track!)
- Highgate woods - beautiful old woodland.
Have a great day and keep on enjoying the outdoors!

That's so cool isn't it. I've been to some of those parks you mentioned. Ally Pally is one of my favourite places in London when I get to visit that area. So much history there as well. The Ice Skating rink should be opening up soon, if not already. I remember they used to open this time of year.
I've also been to Highgate woods as part of a photo walk back in 2013. I wonder how much it's changed.
I suspect Highgate woods hasn't changed hugely - I think it's one of those old woodlands that's pretty timeless! There are tons of other parks and green spaces too as you know - those were just a few examples!
Thanks for reminding me to appreciate the green in London!
