Cricket tournament day 1

Hello everyone, this is Tanvir.
As I always that cricket has always been my number one passion. And whenever I get a chance to play I don't like to miss that opportunity. Few days back one of my friend called me up and informed that there is going to be cricket match tournament and he was making sure whether our whole team is free to make an entry in the tournament. I was pretty excited about it. I asked the whole team and they were also eager to participate. So without any further discussions we participated. The name of our team is Starks.

As today was our first match, we were really nervous and at the same time we were confident about our skills. Our match was supposed to start at 9 am sharp in the morning. Our team arrived at the venue within 8 and we started practicing.
The first thing we were looking at was the pitch. We were really confused about how the pitch is going to behave. I personally thought that it was a flat track and it would be a good batting pitch.

But the teammate suggested me to bowl first as I am the captain of this team.. And one of the main reason was today was our first game so they wanted to chase. And I did won the toss and decided to bowl first. The match was going to be played 20 overs each.

As the game started, the opposite team started the innings slowly. They were knocking balls around and taking singles. First two overs we didn't concede much runs. But they totally changed their mindset and started attacking from the 3rd over. Our bowlers lost their shape and started bowling lose deliveries and we started conceding too many boundaries. We gave too many runs in the middle overs. The run rate was more than 9 per over. Even our best bowlers wasn't up to the mark today.

But I was happy that my part timer bowler sahab surprisingly only conceded 4 runs and took 3 crutial wickets but at that point of time the damage was already done. At the end of the 20 overs they made 194 runs by losing 7 wickets. Their top order batsman played really well.

After 20 minutes of break, it was our turn to chase the score. I was still pretty much confident about our batting abilities. I knew we could chase this score down. Unfortunately, it didn't meet up with my expectation. We started losing early wickets. Their bowlers was not giving any lose balls on first 6 overs which cost us the game. Non of our batsman was able to score a fifty even. The scoreboard wasn't ticking. We lost a lot of balls in the starting 6 overs. In t20 cricket losing balls is one main problems.

We lost the match by a big margin. And we all knew losing with a huge margin could hurt us at the back end of the tournament. But I still believe we could turn this around and make a good comeback on our next match. Proud of my boys that they were fighting till the end. Here is the scoreboard of the match
