[ENG/ESP] A fruitful day of great family harvest.
Greetings #dailyblog friends. Today I want to share with you a wonderful and fruitful time that my son and I spent in the sector of Atamo Norte.
Today we got up at 6:00 a.m. to go to the town of Atamo Norte, where my father lives, which is a little far from home.
He has a quite spacious plot of land with a variety of fruit trees that he has been planting over the years in order to have his fruits fresh and, above all, without any chemicals incorporated, all in a natural way. On the land there are plum, pump fruit, mango, date, orange, coconut, cocoa, banana, anon, soursop and tangerine plants.
Saludos amigos de #dailyblog. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un rato maravilloso y fructífero que pasamos mi hijo y yo en el sector de Atamo Norte.
Hoy nos levantamos a las 6:00 a. m. para dirigirnos a la localidad de Atamo Norte, donde reside mi padre, que nos queda un poco distante de casa.
Él tiene un terreno bastante espacioso con variedad de árboles frutales que ha ido sembrando a lo largo de los años con el fin de tener sus frutas frescas y, sobre todo, sin ningún químico incorporado, todo de forma natural. En el terreno hay plantas de ciruela, fruta bomba , mango, dátil, naranja, coco, cacao, plátano, anón, guanábana y mandarinas.
He had been waiting for two weeks for my son to have time to go, because the tangerine bushes were full and already falling to the ground. As much as he picks, he alone could not take care of it, and it is not good for him to lose the fruit on the ground, as we know that it is difficult to get quality fruit nowadays without additives, chemicals and herbicides.
These mandarins my father does not sell them, even though there are a lot of them, because he planted these bushes to have fruit, not to market. Approximately 7 buckets are harvested per bush and the bushes always have some left over.
Él llevaba dos semanas esperando que mi hijo tuviera tiempo de ir, porque los arbustos de mandarina estaban llenos y ya estaban cayendo al suelo. Por mucho que él recoja, solo no podía hacerse cargo, y no es bueno que pierda el fruto en el suelo, ya que sabemos que es difícil conseguir hoy en día un fruto de calidad sin aditivos, químicos ni herbicidas.
Estas mandarinas mi padre no las vende, a pesar de que son muchas, porque él sembró estos arbustos para tener frutas, no para comercializar. Se recogen aproximadamente 7 baldes por arbusto y siempre les queda a los arbustos.
A great advantage we have on the Island is that, as we do not suffer from climatic seasons, it is always summer or rainy season. In a single plant you can find flowers, small fruits and ripe fruits ready to pick. Of course, always in the hottest seasons, it gives more fruits, but it is not lacking all year round.
On this occasion, as the man who cuts the bush has not come by because he is still on vacation, it is a little narrow to pick, but not impossible. For this reason, my son sent us home and preferred to do the harvest by himself, because it was faster. That's what young people have, they are electric and tireless.
Una gran ventaja que tenemos en la Isla es que, como no sufrimos de estaciones climáticas, siempre es verano o época lluviosa. En una sola planta puedes encontrar flores, frutos pequeños y frutos maduros listos para recoger. Claro, siempre en las épocas más calientes, da mayor cantidad de frutos, pero no falta en todo el año.
En esta ocasión, como el señor que le corta el monte no ha pasado porque aún está de vacaciones, se hace un poco angosta la recogida, pero no imposible. Por esa razón, mi hijo nos mandó a casa y prefirió él solo hacer la cosecha, porque andaba más rápido. Eso tienen los jóvenes, son eléctricos e incansables.
Once the harvest is done, we get ready to go back home. After we leave, my father prepares his bags and gives them to each of his neighbors and friends, who are already waiting for their mandarins.
We take a bucket for our consumption, as there are many we also give to some friends.
Lista la cosecha, nos preparamos para volver a nuestra casa. Después de que nosotros nos marchemos, es que mi papá prepara sus bolsas y va dándole a cada uno de sus vecinos y amigos, que ya esperan sus mandarinas.
Nosotros llevamos un balde para nuestro consumo, como son muchas también regalamos a algunos amigos.
And as a saying I heard at home since I was a child says: "Whoever knows how to do a trade, does not go without food". And so it happened.
Anyway, it was a fruitful few hours and thanks to that we are at home enjoying some fresh and juicy tangerines.

Excelente manera de empezar el año, recogiendo y comiendo frutas totalmente orgánicas, es de las cosas que más extraño de Venezuela, que mucha gente tiene matas o árboles de diferentes frutas y verduras en el patio de su casa 😁
