El concepto de esta obra en sí lo que nos quiere hacer ver es el miedo de la humanidad a lo desconocido, cómo actúan ante criaturas que desconocen y cómo son capaces hasta de desprestigiar a gente de su misma raza. El miedo hace actuar a las personas de formas horribles, provocando que inclusive sean peores que los propios Kabane, prefieren su propia seguridad a creerle al indefenso que llora por ayuda o velar por sus propios fines egoístas y crueles. La desconfianza llega a ser tanta que incluso dudan de gente que les ayudan a sobrevivir, gente que les han salvado la vida con anterioridad, no saben distinguir entre la verdadera amenaza y un aliado, todo provocado por el miedo a lo desconocido. Ikoma durante el transcurso del anime tratará de acabar con esa visión, quiere abrirle los ojos a los demás, que como humanidad debemos apoyarnos y no acabar contra nosotros mismos. Ciertamente el anime tiene sus ciertos parecidos a Shingeki no Kyojin, lo podrás notar en sus dos primeros capítulos pero luego se desentiende completamente de dicha obra, lo único que queda bastante similar es la forma de pelear de Mumei que parece poseer un equipo de maniobras especiales. En particular, este anime fue más de mi agrado que el propio SnK, aunque pueda que esté diciendo esto por el odio injustificado que le tengo debido a su pésimo final, además siento que ésta obra es mucho más sencilla y no se enrevesa tratando de impresionar o sorprender al espectador, con solo contar su historia le es suficiente. Lo que más te va a llamar la atención es el apartado artístico, el diseño de personajes no es algo muy común que digamos, es muy diferenciable con cualquier otra cosa que hayas visto antes, me sorprendió cuando lo vi, luego si tenemos que mencionar a la animación en sí, estamos hablando de Wit Studio cuando estaba en su cúspide, obviamente tenemos una excelente animación que hacen que las batallas contra los Kabane cobren vida y sean un total espectáculo. La banda sonora también es de admirar, con piezas que suenan en momentos claves para hacer más excitantes los momentos o quizás hasta más emotivos, además el opening es un espectáculo en mi parecer. Lo único malo es que la obra dura unos 12 capítulos y se siente que es poco, quieres mucho más, también se dejan cabos sueltos aunque según vi por ahí, hay una película, no sé si será el final definitivo de la obra pero tengo que verla. En fin, si eres un fan loco empedernido de SnK y quedaste con ganas de más, te recomiendo ver esto y si odias SnK como yo también te recomiendo ver Kabaneri.
