Ecotrain's Question of the Week Season 10.4: The world’s population.

source
Billions of people are living on Earth and everyday the numbers gets increased. The world is over populated, we are consuming so much resources each day and not everyone can get a piece of these resources like the poor masses, everyone is striving hard each day to provide welfare for themselves. The world is a battle ground that only the fittest can survive. With the increase rate of population, we will get to a point where the increase of humans will interfere so much with the increase in welfare. And in a place where there’s no welfare, no resources to go round many people will have to leave their countries and migrate to another where they can find food, water and welfare then cause a bigger problem.
The rise of overpopulation has caused more harm than good in our society, for example, there are more people looking for jobs than the number of job opportunities and as a result of the unemployed state of the people it has given rise to crimes in the society. Also, because of the high population, pandemics and epidemics comes from nowhere and spreads so fast.
The fight to survive is getting tougher everyday and we only have one way out to conquer this battle which is decrease our population. But how do we find ways to solve this problem?

The number one solution to this problem is offering a Better Education. The masses needs to be educated, children need to be taught in schools too to help them understand the importance and the need for birth control, educating the people with sex education, the various safe sex techniques and contraceptive methods to avoid unwanted pregnancy. I read about "China‘s one-child policy" and how the government have imposed a birth control tax on couples that choose to have more than 1 child and I buy into this idea just to slow down the population growth.
Limiting the number of children as per income and resources has to be imposed too. Bringing children into the world that one cannot care for isn’t the best. The media need to help spread and create proper awareness to the public because lack of the awareness about overpopulation as lead families not care about limiting the number of children to bear and the need to spread awareness is so important to make them see also it negative effects.
At the end of the day, it all boils down to women most importantly. It is important to empower women with basic ideas about having a better reproductive health and making better decisions towards that aspect in other to join hands in reducing the overpopulation rate.

You are very right @suchabeaut, people need access to better education, especially the masses who can´t afford it in order to be aware of what damage overpopulation is causing in the world and how to reduce the number of children through contraception and pills to control birth rate. Thank you for sharing your view on the topic.

No better way than creating awareness on the negative effects of overpopulation in the society.
Thanks you @princessbusayo
