Today's coin reveal post features the 1oz .999 Silver 2015 Carded Australian Stock Horse Coin struck by the Perth Mint.

1. Coin Story

The third Australian Stock Horse coin was issued in 2015. The coin series ran from 2013 to 2017 after it was commissioned by the large German bullion dealer, EMK Munzen & Edelmetalle.

The 2015 design of the stock horse jumping over a horse fence was well received by the stacker community. The 2015 1oz Australian Stock Horse carded coin is currently selling on ebay.com.au for around AU$90, this is about AU$30 higher than the issue price of AU$59. This is a respectable premium, but is is quite a lot lower than the initial release 2013 1oz Australian Stock Horse carded coin that has had recent sales between AU$120 - AU$150.

2. Coin Packaging

These coins are packaged in individual sealed plastic capsules. Each coin is displayed in a card of orange and black portrays a typical Australian Outback sunset.

3. Coin Details

a. Mintage

The mintage of the carded version of this coin was 1,000 coins. Each of the coins were issued as legal tender under the authority of the Australian Government with the denomination of $1 (Australian).

b. Purity

The purity of the coin is .999 fine silver.

4. Coin Design

a. Reverse Design

The reverse of the coin depicts an Australian Stock Horse jumping over a horse fence with an outback scene in the background.

The design includes an inscription 'AUSTRALIAN STOCK HORSE', the coin weight '1 OZ', the coin purity '999 SILVER' and the year of issue '2015'.

b. Obverse Design

The obverse of the coin portrays the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The design also includes the inscriptions 'ELIZABETH II', country of origin 'AUSTRALIA' and the denomination '1 DOLLAR' (Australian).
