Aunque no lo crean, este año las vacaciones fueron super planeadas,
@isamorales y yo compramos los boletos de avión desde julio y salimos de vacaciones de nuestros respectivos trabajos el 1ro de octubre!
Believe it or not, this year's vacation was super planned,
@isamorales and I bought the plane tickets since July and left on vacation from our respective jobs on October 1st!
En venezuela las vaciones que se otorgan a los empleados de empresas privadas son de 15 días hábiles en el primer año y por cada año siguiente se le suma un día, así que mis vacaciones este año fueron de 16 días hábiles, lo que dio un total de 26 días continuos.
In Venezuela the vacation granted to employees of private companies is 15 working days in the first year and for each following year a day is added, so my vacation this year was 16 working days, for a total of 26 continuous days.
1ro de octubre fue viernes, así que por un acuerdo previo con mi jefa, decidí ir a trabajar ese día y que mi día de reintegro se corriera un día, así no tendría que reintegrarme el martes 26 sino el miércoles 27 de octubre.
October 1st was Friday, so by prior arrangement with my boss, I decided to go to work that day and that my day of reinstatement would be moved up one day, so that I would not have to reinstate on Tuesday 26th but on Wednesday October 27th.
Los días previos a las vacaciones siempre son super estresantes y llenos de un montón de trabajo, ya que no se puede dejar nada pendiente y ese viernes sin duda no fue la excepción, pero aún así nada opacó mi felicidad.
The days leading up to the vacations are always super stressful and filled with a lot of work, since you can't leave anything pending and that Friday was certainly no exception, but still nothing overshadowed my happiness.
4:00 pm, soy libre laboralmente jajajaja, no es como que estuviese presa o algo, pero sí me sentía ya con menos responsabilidades encima y además bastante entusiasmada por mis próximos días.
4:00 pm, I'm free for work hahahaha, it's not like I'm in jail or anything, but I did feel less responsibilities on my shoulders and also quite excited for my next days.
Nuestros boletos de avión tenían fecha para el 6 de octubre, así que aún nos quedaban un par de días para organizar maletas y algunas cosas pendientes.
Our plane tickets were dated for October 6, so we still had a couple of days left to organize suitcases and some pending things.
Nos marchamos el día martes 5 de octubre para la ciudad de Cúcuta (queda en Colombia y es frontera con el estado donde vivo) donde tomaríamos el vuelo para nuestro destino vacacional. Decidimos irnos un día antes para evitar cuaquier contratiempo en el camino y más porque el paso por la frontera es un poco complicado en el país donde vivo (Venezuela).
We left on Tuesday October 5th for the city of Cúcuta (it is in Colombia and it is on the border with the state where I live) where we would take the flight to our vacation destination. We decided to leave a day earlier to avoid any mishap on the way and more because the border crossing is a bit complicated in the country where I live (Venezuela).

@isamorales fue quien se quedó a cuidar a las dos bebés de la casa; Susy Amor y Kara Melissa, ella las ama tanto como nosotras, es más, es una abuela bastante complaciente y consentidora, por lo que sabiamos que estarían bien cuidadas y llenas de amor.

@isamorales was the one who took care of the two babies in the house; Susy Amor and Kara Melissa, she loves them as much as we do, in fact, she is a very accommodating and pampering grandmother, so we knew they would be well cared for and full of love.
Llegó el día tan esperado, martes 5 de octubre, el taxi llegó a las 7am a recogernos en casa, para llevarnos hasta ureña (el pueblo que es frontera con Cucuta) y por donde pasaríamos la frontera, son aproximadamente 2:30 horas de camino, así que desayunamos muy bien antes de irnos.
The long awaited day arrived, Tuesday October 5, the cab arrived at 7am to pick us up at home, to take us to ureña (the town that is border with Cucuta) and where we would cross the border, it is about 2:30 hours drive, so we had a good breakfast before leaving.
El paso por la frontera es solo de manera peatonal, es decir caminando, así que nos tocó caminar bastante, menos mal solo llevábamos equipaje de mano.
The border crossing is only pedestrian, i.e. walking, so we had to walk a long way, fortunately we only had hand luggage.
Para ingresar a territorio Colombiano primero se debe pasar por varios puestos de control de personal de seguridad y migración, no solo Venezolano sino Colombiano también, donde a cada ciudadano se le pide no solo el documento de identidad (cédula) sino tambien un carnet fronterizo (este proceso lleva ya varios años puesto en práctica) y nosotros los tachirenses (así se les dice a los habitantes del estado en el que vivo) estamos bastante familiarizados con este procedimiento.
To enter Colombian territory you must first pass through several checkpoints of security and migration personnel, not only Venezuelan but Colombian as well, where every citizen is asked not only for an identity document (cédula) but also for a border card (this process has been in practice for several years) and we Tachirenses (that's how they call the inhabitants of the state where I live) are quite familiar with this procedure.
En fin, luego de pasar por los puntos de control antes mencionados, llegamos a la oficina de migración donde nos iban a sellar el pasaporte con la entrada a Colombia, pero resulta que nos dijeron que si no habíamos realizado el CheckMig no podían sellarnos el pasaporte. No sabíamos de que nos estaban hablando, pero amablemente nos explicaron (es una planilla que se debe llenar de manera virtual por la página de migración Colombia, con los datos de tu viaje, en otras palabras un control de migración más) y nos indicaron que podíamos hacerlo desde el celular, así que nos sentamos en la calle a las afueras de migración en el sitio donde mejor cobertura teníamos, que por suerte aún contabamos con un poco de cobertura, de lo contrario no sé cómo hubiéramos hecho. Luego de realizar este paso, todo fue super sencillo, no había gente en espera, nada, así que si alguno de ustedes piensa viajar a Colombia pronto, deben tener este paso presente, que se puede realizar 48 horas antes de pasar por migración.
Anyway, after passing through the checkpoints mentioned above, we arrived at the immigration office where they were going to stamp our passport with the entry to Colombia, but it turned out that they told us that if we had not completed the CheckMig they could not stamp our passport. We did not know what they were talking about, but they kindly explained to us (it is a form that must be filled out virtually through the Colombia migration page, with the data of your trip, in other words another migration control) and told us that we could do it from the cell phone, so we sat on the street outside migration in the place where we had better coverage, which luckily we still had a little coverage, otherwise I do not know how we would have done. After doing this step, everything was super simple, there were no people waiting, nothing, so if any of you are planning to travel to Colombia soon, you should keep this step in mind, which can be done 48 hours before going through immigration.
Ya por fin habíamos terminado con las formalidades ese día, así que nos fuimos a encontrarnos con un viejo amigo, al cual le tengo mucho cariño y teníamos mucho tiempo sin vernos.
We were finally done with the formalities that day, so we went to meet up with an old friend of mine, whom I am very fond of and we hadn't seen each other for a long time.
Dario (mi amigo), nos recibió, guardó nuestras maletas y mientras él terminaba de trabajar nosotras fuimos a dar una vuelta en el centro de la ciudad, donde terminamos almorzando un rico pollo a la broaster con papitas fritas.
Dario (my friend) met us, put our bags away and while he finished work we went for a walk in the center of the city, where we ended up having a nice broaster chicken and french fries for lunch.
Decidimos quedarnos en un hotel cerca del aeropuerto para evitar contratiempos al otro día, así que luego de varias vueltas a la ciudad, nos fuimos al hotel, nos registramos y luego de un buen y merecido baño, Dario se reunió de nuevo con nosotras para cenar, conversamos, nos reímos y nos pusimos al día con varios cuentos pendientes, sin duda fue un rato muy agradable.
We decided to stay in a hotel near the airport to avoid any mishaps the next day, so after several laps around the city, we went to the hotel, checked in and after a good and well deserved bath, Dario met us again for dinner, we talked, laughed and caught up with several pending stories, it was certainly a very nice time.
La noche estaba llena de calor a pesar de ser una noche lluviosa, pero es que el calor es lo normal de esta ciudad ¿y yo?, yo estaba lista para descansar, había sido un largo y ajetreado día y debíamos madrugar al día siguiente.
The night was full of heat despite being a rainy night, but the heat is the norm in this city and me, I was ready to rest, it had been a long and busy day and we had to get up early the next day.
Llegó el día!!!, A pesar de madrugar, el tiempo no nos rendía mucho, pero aún así salimos a buscar qué desayunar primero y luego de comer, decidimos caminar hasta el aeropuerto que estaba relativamente cerca de donde nos habíamos hospedado.
Despite getting up early, the weather was not very good, but we still went out to look for breakfast first and after eating, we decided to walk to the airport, which was relatively close to where we were staying.
Caminamos al rededor de 15 minutos, hasta llegar al aeropuerto, fue fácil llegar y por ser temprano el calor no estaba tan insoportable, así que no fue horrible.
We walked for about 15 minutes to get to the airport, it was easy to get there and because it was early in the morning the heat was not too unbearable, so it was not horrible.
A pesar de creer que íbamos sobre la hora, la verdad es que llegamos con tiempo de sobra, claro, también nos ahorramos bastante tiempo al haber realizado el check in del vuelo el dia anterior (via online), así que nos quedó tiempo para descansar, hablar (como si casi no lo hiciéramos jajaja) en la sala de espera mientras esperabamos el abordaje.
Despite believing that we were on time, the truth is that we arrived with plenty of time to spare, of course, we also saved a lot of time by having checked in the flight the day before (via online), so we had time to rest, talk (as if we almost didn't do it hahaha) in the waiting room while we were waiting for boarding.
Había escuchado y leído muchas cosas sobre viajar, como que no pedían pasaporte, que se podía viajar solo con la cédula de identidad, en fin cada quien tiene su propia historia, pero en ésta, que es la mía, debo decirles que nos pidieron apróximadente cinco veces el pasaporte desde el momento que entramos al aeropuerto hasta el momento de abordar el avión.
I had heard and read many things about traveling, such as that they did not ask for a passport, that you could travel only with your identity card, in short, everyone has their own story, but in this one, which is mine, I must tell you that we were asked approximately five times for our passport from the moment we entered the airport until the moment we boarded the plane.
Imagino que como todo eso, es cuestión de suerte, ya que no sólo nos pedían el pasaporte sino que revisaban que estuviera el sello correspondiente de migración.
I imagine that like all of that, it is a matter of luck, since they not only asked for our passport but also checked that we had the corresponding immigration stamp.
Por otro lado, debo decir que el personal que trabaja en el aeropuerto está muy pendiente de que se cumplan las normas de bioseguridad en la medida de lo posible.
On the other hand, I must say that the staff working at the airport are very vigilant in ensuring that biosecurity standards are met as far as possible.

@isamorales pasó de primera, ya que nos tocó en asientos separados (super separados la verdad), por ser nuestro primer viaje fuera del país y nuestro primer viaje juntas, queríamos ir sentadas una al lado de la otra, pero no lo hicimos así, ya que incrementaba considerablemente el valor del pasaje, aún así disfrutamos de un vuelo bastante tranquilo y relajado
It was time to board,
@isamorales was first class, as we were seated in separate seats (super separated the truth), being our first trip out of the country and our first trip together, we wanted to sit next to each other, but we did not do so, as it considerably increased the value of the ticket, even so we enjoyed a fairly quiet and relaxed flight.
