Hello.

Today is the holiest day for Muslims. The fasts were held for a month and ended yesterday. Today is the first day of Ramadan Feast. I love this holiday the most among the holidays. As a kid, we called it "candy day". The reason why we say "Candy Feast" is that we took bags and went door to door to collect candy. Some landlords would offer us money instead of candy, which made us very happy. We used to buy toys with our money. These customs still continue.

We fill a bowl with holiday candies in case the children come to visit. They hit the bell and wish "Happy Holidays" and take the candies we offer. I wish I could still be the candy-collecting kid. I would be incredibly happy. It is our custom to dress up for the holiday before the holiday. When I was a kid, my mother used to buy beautiful clothes before the holidays. I would be very happy to see the new clothes and shoes. In fact, many children like me put their new shoes on their head and sleep. As soon as we woke up in the morning, my mother would dress us up and we would set out to celebrate the holiday of our elders. On the first day of the holiday, we usually visit family elders. We would kiss their hands and get pocket money. Then I would go out on the streets and go door to door in the neighborhood to collect my sweets. What child doesn't love such a sweet holiday? :)

During home visits, cologne is always offered. Sometimes we use rose water instead of cologne. But the most indispensable of home visits is BAKLAVA. During the holidays, baklava is made in many houses and served to the guests. This holiday, we usually get plenty of calories because we consume the treats without turning down the treat in every house we go to visit. Especially as a sweet lover, I can never say no to the sweets that are served. It would not be nice to reject a food that has already given so much effort. Today, I consumed all the sweets served in every house I went to. :)

Baklava tray is almost finished from the first day. We will have visitors who will come tomorrow, and we will offer them the leftovers. It makes me happy to see that the old traditions still continue. The two holidays during the Corona period were celebrated without home visits. I'm happy we did it this year.

I wish I could offer all the hive users the candies I have. I congratulate the Ramadan Feast of the whole Muslim world. I hope the next year will be as sweet as this holiday. Keep smiles on your face. I wanted to tell you a little about our culture. I hope you enjoyed reading it. It is very important to me that old traditions and customs continue. Traditions in which children are especially happy should always continue...
