Vacationing In Paxos

Last Monday was the holiday of Pentecost here in Greece, and most people took the opportunity to enjoy some vacation time. That's exactly what I decided to do, so I booked some last-minute tickets to go to Paxos . Paxos is an island in the Ionian Sea, located just south of Corfu. It forms a group with the nearby island of Antipaxos and adjoining islets. The main town and seat of the municipality is Gaios.

Being the smallest of the seven main Ionian Islands (the Heptanese), Paxos covers an area of 25.3 square kilometers (9.8 sq mi), while the municipality has an area of 30.121 km2 (11.630 sq mi) and a population of about 2,300. Paxos is a relatively quiet island that people choose for their vacations. Unlike other popular tourist destinations in Greece, such as Mykonos, Rhodes, Santorini, and Zakynthos, Paxos is smaller, and visitors are looking for a relaxing, peaceful, and laid-back environment. That's exactly what this island offers to anyone who visits.

The thing I liked most during my vacation was when I rented a boat and went out to sea for a ride. It was a truly great experience, and it was the first time I had done something like that. It made me want to buy a boat to have back home for fishing or just for fun. I definitely recommend anyone visiting Paxos or any other island to rent a boat.

There are great, clean beaches with wonderful water for swimming, sea caves to explore, and a lot of natural beauty to witness. I believe Paxos to be one of the greatest islands for summer vacations because it will definitely provide a different perspective on life!
