It's the first rehearsal after our little concert.

I couldn't make it to rehearsal. No bass for the rhythm section. Nothing for the drums to follow. No rhythmic or tonality foundation. The members of the big band were probably very sad.

It was probably healthy for them. Teaches them to stop relying on me. I fix the drums when I play. Good drummers fix me when they play. These drummers don't, yet...

I had a legitimate excuse.

Yup, a flat tire. For real. I did not release air and take a fake flat tire picture for our big band director.

💰 Musician Tip: Leave early. Arrive early and start setting up. Give yourself time.

🔁 Road Images and Sunset:

I pack-up the car. I leave early. I roll down the window to focus on a new elastic type of oscillating noise. Double check, brake check, and realize it's my tire. I had to call out while on the way to the rehearsal. As the car moves, i hear a stretching rubber type of sound. It seem to be in time with my tire's rotation. WTF, better check it before getting on the freeway.

I drive home, drop off my equipment, and head out to the tire store. I drop off Ol' Betsy and come back tomorrow.

For now, I'll ride home on four solid, reliable wheels. Skate for ever.

Haven't done too much music stuff or practicing. Feeling too annoyed with my environment to focus on bass charts for this big band.

Are you a fan of West Side Story? Are you a fan of composers that take mushrooms and create music for musicals? I was. Why is my life chaotic every time this song "Cool" rears its head? It's not a song about being cool. It's a song about dudes trying to stab each other with knifes.

🚹 Drumbs:

Nope, not tonight. These drummers can remind the band what it's like when a bass player like me isn't around.
(At the next rehearsal I'm told that things didn't workout too well for the big band. Rhythm issues on this night that I gone.)
Maybe they went homes early. They should just pay me and a good drummer to teach the rhythm section how to play. It would make everyone happy.

I've had the privilege of catching many sunset and sunrises this year. My iPhone7's image gallery is awesome... and bloated.





I'm grateful to catch a beautiful sunset. This image reminds me of something other than the screen sucking zombie that lurks at home.
