An Eventful Day with NFT Enthusiasts: Games, Drinks, and a Native Touch

Last week, I was invited by my friend @chosenfingers to hang out with some of his group of friends. These guys are into NFT projects, many of which are run on Twitter. The reason why I agreed to the meet-up was that I heard there would be free food and drinks, and I also wanted to be around people since I have been spending most of my time alone.

I was also recovering from a fever, catarrh, and cough. I am better now, but I am still battling with the catarrh and cough. So I felt that staying indoors would not make the mood great. I agreed to meet up and left for the location.

I got there really late—2 hours after the agreed time to meet—but anyway, I found my friend, and he introduced me to new faces. I was warmly welcomed by them, we introduced ourselves, and we started playing games together.

I needed to keep a record of what happened, so I took some random photos of the place we were. The photos are not that neat, but they are still very cool.

It had really been a while since I played the Who game, possibly more than a year or two. I had to join since it was what they were doing together. I was later offered a Chivita canned drink, which was tempting to take but I didn't because it was cold and obviously taking a cold drink in my present condition would not help matters, instead it would worsen it.

Right in front of the chivita was my inhaler, which I used to clear my nose when it got blocked and I had difficulties breathing through my nose.

I later noticed the ceiling of the place; it was covered with a native cloth material, which gave the place a very good and African feel.

After spending some time, we decided to play a different card game called JACKPOT. I had not played the game before and didn't know the rules, but I wanted to know how it worked and learn it.

The game is very simple... We were asked to choose a partner with whom we would create a sign that we could communicate with each other because we would not be close to each other. The game is played by giving everyone different card shapes, and we pass cards to each other.

If at any point a person gets all his cards to be in the same shape, he has to communicate with his partner to mention the name "JACKPOT," so that he can tender his card to everyone and win.

A team really wins if they are able to call JACKPOT seven times. Also, if you notice another team or person has a complete card, we can stop them from winning by shouting SUSPECT out loud and mentioning the person you suspect to have a complete card in order to prevent the person from communicating with his partner and winning.

The lady to my right was my partner, and we were able to win most of the time. I turned out to be very good in the game even though it was my first time playing.

While playing, we were offered palm wine to drink. Since palmwine was not too cold, I collected some too, but the thing is that I had lost my sense of taste and smell, so I didn't know how good the palmwine tasted or not. The other guys with me said the palm wine tasted really bad and didn't smell nice, but I had no idea because I could not smell or taste the palm wine even though I drank out of it.

After drinking some palm wine and playing some games, we decided to start leaving. We took some group pictures and went to our various homes. Here are some pictures that were taken.
