Primal (2019) Review [ENG - ESP]

Yesterday late at night, I was looking for a new series or movie that caught my attention and there were several, but there was a particular series that caught my attention and this is the one I will talk about today, I was fascinated by many elements incorporated for the development of the chapters that compose it, the soundtrack and especially the cruelty and reality characteristic that accompanies an environment so primitive and completely brutal in every way, it takes us into a world in which you either adapt or perish to the various changes that represent you in this world.

These are aspects and points that I will clearly expose little by little because believe me, there are certain things that gave a tremendous significant weight in the making of this series, especially the body language and it could be said that it is an insignia or characteristic signature considering who is the director in question of this series, so without further ado let's start with Primal.

Ayer a altas horas de la noche, estaba buscando una nueva serie o película que llamase mi atención y si estaban presente varias, pero hubo una serie en particular que capto mi atención y es esta de la cual hablare el día de hoy, quede fascinado por muchos elementos incorporados para la elaboración de los capítulos que la componen, la banda sonora y sobre todo la crueldad y realidad característica que acompaña a un ambiente tan primitivo y completamente brutal en todo sentido, nos adentra a un mundo en el cual o te adaptas o pereces a los diversos cambios que le representan en este mundo.

Son aspectos y puntos que claramente expondré poco a poco porque créanme, hay ciertos cosas que dieron un tremendo peso significativo en la elaboración de esta serie, en especial el lenguaje corporal y se podría decir que es una insignia o firma característica considerando quien es el director en cuestión de esta serie, así que sin mas preámbulo comencemos con Primal.

Primal is considered an American animated series aimed for an adult audience, which was created and directed by Gendy Tartakovsky (creator of Samurai Jack, Dexter's Laboratory, etc) the series as such premiered on Adult Swing on October 7, 2019.

The series consists of a total of 10 chapters and one season, curiously in 2019 only a total of 5 chapters could be broadcast, but in 2020 they were all broadcast on the Adult Swing channel.

Primal es considerada una serie animada Estadounidense dirigida para un público adulto, la cual fue creada y dirigida por Gendy Tartakovsky (creador de Samurái Jack, Laboratorio de Dexter, etc) la serie como tal se estreno en Adult Swing en el 7 de Octubre del 2019.

La serie consta de un total de 10 capítulos y una temporada, curiosamente en el 2019 solo se pudieron transmitir un total de 5 capítulos, pero en el 2020 se transmitieron todos en el canal de Adult Swing.

Synopsis / Sinopsis

The story that is presented to us in question is quite simplistic and takes us as viewers into a world, completely prehistoric and you could get to say in certain nuances something fantastic, exposes us the experiences of a primitive man or caveman, that after the fateful death of his family by a superior predator, This wanders and survives with a Tyrannosaurus that curiously went through the same experience of the caveman in question by the same predator to lose their offspring, both decide to coexist and live together entering and exploring this vast world so dangerous and above all cruel in various shades by various species or creatures.

La historia que se nos presenta en cuestión es bastante simplista y nos adentra como espectadores a un mundo, completamente prehistórico y se podría llegar a decir en ciertos matices algo fantástico, nos expone las vivencias de un hombre primitivo o de las cavernas, que tras la fatídica muerte de su familia por parte de un depredador superior, este vaga y sobrevive junto a una Tiranosaurio que curiosamente paso por la misma experiencia del hombre de las cavernas en cuestión por parte del mismo depredador al perder a sus crías, ambos deciden coexistir y convivir juntos adentrándose y explorando este vasto mundo tan peligroso y sobre todo cruel en diversos matices por parte de diversas especies o criaturas.

Personal opinion / Opinión personal

Personally I loved the series and with this one in particular if I am completely honest, there was not something present that caused me any slight discomfort or friction except when it ended because I was left wanting more the truth, I will take my time to go breaking down part by part certain aspects that complement the series in question and thus provide a broader opinion, let's start with the factor of animation and soundtrack.

The animation for me was pretty good, somewhat simplistic in certain details such as some characters and how they are exposed in the series, but I think it is more than acceptable and goes according to what we are raised, with a very vivid and colorful atmosphere showing so many nuances between a brutal factor but also of peace or tranquility in certain scenarios and chapters, this takes a tremendous force when this incorporated with a great soundtrack as in this case, catches you a lot and involves you more to what happens.

The brutality factor and above all the blood is something that will be present in most of the episodes, at the end of the day it is a hostile and very dangerous environment, in which you either adapt or die either by environments linked to climatic phenomena, dangerous creatures or mentally and emotionally unbalanced human figures.

The fantasy factor in some chapters I really did not expect it, but it was not something I really disliked, I think it was a somewhat creative and ingenious idea, to capture these elements and give it a varied strength that is not only limited to creatures or humans but more dangerous entities that use these tools for their convenience in this world, if you had a creative freedom from this part and I really liked it a lot.

And the last factor that I will talk about and for me is one of the best and I think it is a particular signature of the director Gendy, which has been witnessed as for example in the samurai series JACK, is the factor of body language or narration without dialogue present and the actions of the characters accompanied by music and atmosphere is an aspect that will accompany the whole plot and believe me for my tastes was very good, as viewers we can clearly understand without the need for verbal communication why certain things happen, the internal and emotional conflict, the helplessness, despair, anxiety, anger, fear, both facial and body representations certainly something very loaded and well presented, I had a long time that a series did not make me feel so anxious in some chapters mainly the antepenultimate.

En lo personal la serie me encanto y con esta en particular si les soy completamente honesto, no estuvo presente algo que me causara alguna ligera molestia o roce con excepción cuando termino porque quede con ganas de mas la verdad, me tomare mi tiempo para ir desglosando parte por parte ciertos aspectos que complementan la serie en cuestión y brindarle así una opinión más amplia, comencemos con el factor de la animación y la banda sonora.

La animación para mi estuvo bastante bien, algo simplista en ciertos detalles como algunos personajes y como están expuestos en la serie, pero creo que así está más que aceptable y va acorde a lo que se nos plantea, con una ambientación muy vivida y colorida mostrándonos tantos matices entre un factor brutal pero también de paz o tranquilidad en ciertos escenarios y capítulos, esto cobra una tremenda fuerza cuando esta incorporada con una gran banda sonora como en este caso, te atrapa mucho y te involucra mas ante lo que ocurre.

El factor de la brutalidad y sobre todo la sangre es algo que estará presente en la mayoría de los episodios, al final de cuentas es un ambiente hostil y muy peligroso, en el cual o te adaptas o mueres sea por ambientes ligado a fenómenos climáticos, criaturas peligrosas o figuras humanas desequilibradas mental y emocionalmente.

El factor fantasioso en algunos capítulos la verdad no me lo esperaba, pero no fue algo que realmente me desagrado creo que fue una idea un tanto creativa e ingeniosa, para plasmar estos elementos y darle una fortaleza variada que no solo se limite a criaturas o humanos si no entes más peligrosos que usen estas herramientas para su conveniencia en este mundo, si se tuvo una libertad creativa desde esta parte y me gusto mucho la verdad.

Y el último factor del cual hablare y para mi es uno de los mejores y creo que es una firma particular del director Gendy, el cual se ha presenciado como por ejemplo en la serie de samurái JACK, es el factor del lenguaje corporal o la narración sin diálogos presente y las acciones de los personajes acompañadas por la música y el ambiente es un aspecto que acompañara del todo en la trama y créanme que para mi gustos fue muy bueno, como espectadores podemos entender claramente sin necesidad de una comunicación verbal el porqué ocurren ciertas cosas, el conflicto interno y emocional, la impotencia, la desesperación, la ansiedad, la ira el miedo tanto representaciones faciales y corporales sin duda algo muy cargado y bien presentado, tenía tiempo que una serie no me hacía sentir tan ansioso en algunos capítulos principalmente el antepenúltimo.

Y con esto termino con mi reseña de Primal espero le den una oportunidad al verla, y espero lo disfruten como yo lo hice si quieren adentrarse a un mundo tan cruel y peligroso claro está, sin más que decir hasta la próxima y gracias por llegar y leer hasta aquí.
