La isla del tesoro / Treasure Island [ENG - ESP] Review
A few days ago I had the opportunity to review the movie "The Treasure Planet", a movie that had a significant impact on my childhood, however I do not think it is fair that I have talked about this movie without presenting its greatest literary reference, the one that served as a fixed and direct reference for the development of that film, and that will be the book that we will talk about today, a book that was given to me a long time ago which belonged to an uncle on my mother's side of the family, it is a book a little old and has passed through many hands according to his words when he gave it to me at the time, and it is a wonderful book that at this point can be read by anyone.
I read it a long time ago practically when I was in high school, and to see the significant impact it has had for a long time in movies, series and light references in themes of that nature are so notorious and interesting, so it will be a pleasure for me to bring you this time Treasure Island.
Hace unos días atrás tuve la oportunidad de hacer una reseña sobre la película del planeta del tesoro, una película que tuvo un impacto significativo en mi infancia, sin embargo no me parece justo que haya hablado de tal película sin que presente a su mayor exponente literario referencial, aquel que sirvió como una referencia fija y directa para la elaboración de ese largometraje, y ese será el libro que hablaremos en cuestión el día de hoy, un libro que me regalaron hace mucho tiempo atrás el cual pertenecía a un tío por parte de mi familia materna, es un libro un poco viejo y ha pasado por muchas manos según sus palabras al dármelo en su momento, y es un libro maravilloso que a estas alturas puede leerlo cualquiera.
Yo lo leí hace tiempo atrás prácticamente cuando estaba cursando en la secundaria, y ver el impacto tan significativo que ha tenido durante mucho tiempo en películas, series y referencias ligeras en temas de esa índole son tan notorios e interesantes, así que será un placer para mi traerles en esta ocasión la isla del tesoro.

Robert Louis Stevenson (1850 - 1854) was a Scottish poet, writer, essayist and translator which has a wide recognition for being the author of this book in question, from an early age Robert was strongly influenced by life in the maritime environment because his family was dedicated to repair lighthouses, but this had an inclination towards the letters, so as it grows decides to study law and becomes a lawyer, and this gives a significant step for the development of various stories such as: The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Prince Otto or Kidnapped.
A rather curious anecdote about the elaboration of Treasure Island is that Stevenson usually did it in small sections or installments, directed to a children's magazine and in 1883 when he finished all the installments with this specific magazine, they put them together and gave enough material to be compiled as a book.
Robert Louis Stevenson (1850 - 1854) fue un poeta, escritor, ensayista y traductor Escocés el cual tiene un reconocimiento amplio por ser el autor de este libro en cuestión, desde una temprana edad Robert se vio fuertemente influenciado por la vida en el entorno marítimo debido a que su familia se dedicaba a reparar faros, pero este tenía una inclinación hacia las letras, así que a medida de que crece decide estudiar derechos y se convierte en un abogado, y esto le da un paso significativo para la elaboración de diversas historias como por ejemplo: El extraño caso del Dr Jekyll y el señor Hyde, El príncipe Otón o Secuestrado.
Una anécdota bastante curiosa sobre la elaboración de la isla del tesoro, es que Stevenson por lo general la hacía en pequeñas secciones o entregas, dirigidas a una revista infantil y en 1883 cuando culmino todas las entregas con esta revista en específico, las juntan y da el suficiente material como para ser recopilado como un libro.
Summary / Resumen
Our story begins with a teenager named Jim Hawkings, a young man who lives with his mother in an inn called Admiral Benbow in the port, a place where they receive all kinds of people but more frequently to tourists and sailors, one of those days comes to the inn a somewhat strange guy with a trunk (Billy Bones was his name) and requests a room for a few days, in addition to this asks as a favor to the young Jim to watch outside the place in case they ask for him or if you notice a one-legged individual enter the place. The days pass and unfortunately this man named Bones dies, after this both Jim and his mother check Bones' trunk and find some coins and cloths and a parchment (which turns out to be a map) and it is from here where the story will take a significant turn for our character.
Nuestra historia comienza con un adolescente llamado Jim Hawkings, un joven que vive con su madre en una posada llamada almirante Benbow en el puerto, lugar en el cual reciben a todo tipo de personas pero de manera más frecuente a turistas y marineros, uno de esos días llega a la posada un sujeto algo extraño con un baúl (Billy Bones era su nombre) y solicita una habitación para algunos días, además de ello le pide como favor al joven Jim que vigile a las afueras del lugar por si preguntan por el o si nota a un individuo de una sola pierna entrar al lugar. Los días pasan y lamentablemente este hombre llamado Bones muere, después de esto tanto Jim como su madre revisan el baúl de Bones y encuentran algunas monedas y telas y un pergamino (que resulta ser un mapa) y es a partir de aquí donde la historia dará un giro significativo para nuestro personaje.

If you like or are passionate about adventure, plotting, betrayals, greed or excesses this kind of work is for you, the truth brought me some memories when I read it long ago being in high school, of course the book is physically a little bit battered by its time of use but still conveys what it should, it is a book that from my point of view is for any age whether for young people, adults or older adults retains that great essence of adventure and especially of reality to certain things together as greed and addictions.
In relation to our protagonist the young Jim, well the development and growth that takes this throughout the work is something very satisfying to see, how it grows from a naive figure to become someone more mature in certain aspects and quite clever and witty, throughout the same will notice a significant relationship with a pirate of the work called John Silver a symbolic representative, in every sense of what it is to be a pirate, I really like this character is to be noticed and in the interactions it takes with others and Jim.
One aspect that will be very present is the theme of greed and addictions mainly to rum as such, a trait that will have ingrained most of the pirates in this series for the treasure or coins or jewels, we can notice a very desperate side of these to satiate it and see a deeper background of them on something like that, I found a very interesting point at the time and as addressed in the work in question.
I really recommend this work is a classic and has had a marked presence today in both series, such as video games or movies even as a mere reference in some whether to a greater or lesser extent such as the animated film of Treasure Planet, the essence and very slight references in the anime of One Piece or Pirates of the Caribbean, and with this I end the review on this great work thank you for reading and get to without more to say until next time.
Si les gusta o apasiona las aventuras, el complot, las traiciones, la codicia o los excesos este tipo de obra es para ti, la verdad me trajo algunos recuerdos cuando lo leí hace tiempo atrás estando en la secundaria, claro el libro físicamente está un poquito maltratado por su tiempo de uso pero aun así transmite lo que debería, es un libro que desde mi punto de vista es para cualquier edad sea para jóvenes, adultos o adultos mayores conserva esa gran escancia de aventura y sobre todo de realidad ante ciertas cosas en conjunto como la codicia y adicciones.
Con relación a nuestro protagonista el joven Jim, bueno el desarrollo y crecimiento que toma este a lo largo de la obra es algo muy satisfactorio de ver, de cómo crece desde una figura ingenua hasta convertirse en alguien más maduro en ciertos aspectos y bastante astuto así como ingenioso, a lo largo de la misma se notara una relación significativa con un pirata de la obra llamado John Silver un representante simbólico, en todo sentido de lo que es ser un pirata, este personaje me gusta mucho sea al hacerse notar y en las interacciones que toma con otros y con Jim.
Un aspecto que se verá muy presente es el tema de la codicia y las adicciones principalmente al ron como tal, un rasgo que tendrán arraigado la mayoría de los piratas en esta serie por el tesoro o las monedas o joyas, podremos notar un lado muy desesperado de estos para poder saciar ello y ver un trasfondo más profundo de ellos sobre algo así, me pareció un punto muy interesante en su momento y como se abordo en la obra en cuestión.
Realmente les recomiendo esta obra es un clásico y ha tenido una presencia marcada en la actualidad tanto en series, como videojuegos o películas incluso como mera referencia en algunas sea en mayor o menor medida como por ejemplo la película animada del planeta del tesoro, la esencia y muy ligeras referencias en el anime de One piece o piratas del Caribe, y con esto termino la reseña sobre esta gran obra gracias por leer y llegar hasta sin más que decir hasta la próxima.
