Baki Hanma: Son of ogre (2021) Review [ENG - ESP]
Last month I was very excited about the animation of this new arc of Baki Son of Ogre which would be uploaded to the Netflix platform, but I was a little busy and could not see it in the course of those relevant weeks, however yesterday I had the whole day off so to speak and the first thing I did was to prepare myself to enjoy what I was presented in this new arc, and the truth at the end of watching all the chapters, I was quite satisfied if I'm honest, there were present many moments that I liked and some very minimal ones that caused me some friction, which certainly not because they were bad animated from my perspective, but because these moments were very bad from my perspective, I was quite satisfied if I'm honest, there were many moments that I liked and some others that caused me some friction, not because they were poorly animated from my perspective, but because these moments are presented and developed in the manga in a way that for my taste, was not to my complete liking, it's something personal more than anything else compared to when I read it in the manga.
The Baki franchise was something that I started watching and reading since last year, and not only because of the animations uploaded to the Netflix platform, I also mean as a whole those ovas and seasons of this franchise from a long time ago not only the ones that are present recently, so you could say that I am quite updated with everything both in manga and animation and the truth would be very interesting if I take my time later as to talk about each arc even the old ones or certain ovas that followed the continuity of the growth of our protagonist until what it is today, so it will be a pleasure for me to talk to you this time about Baki: Son of Ogre.
El mes pasado estaba muy emocionado por la animación de este nuevo arco de Baki Son of Ogre el cual se subiría a la plataforma de Netflix, pero estaba un poco ocupado y no pude verla en el transcurso de esas semanas pertinentes, sin embargo ayer tuve todo el día libre por así decirlo y lo primero que hice fue prepararme para disfrutar ante lo que me presentaban en este nuevo arco, y la verdad al culminar de ver todos los capítulos, salí bastante satisfecho si les soy honesto, estuvieron presente muchos momentos de mi agrado y algunos otros muy mínimos que me causaron ciertos roces, que por cierto no porque estuviesen mal animados desde mi perspectiva, si no porque estos momentos se presentan y desenvuelven en el manga de una forma que para mi gusto, no fue de mi completo agrado es algo personal más que nada en comparación cuando lo leí en el manga.
La franquicia de Baki fue algo que empecé a ver y leer desde el año pasado, y no solo por las animaciones subidas a la plataforma de Netflix, también me refiero en conjunto aquellas ovas y temporadas de esta franquicia de hace mucho tiempo atrás no solo a las que están presente recientemente, así que se podría decir que estoy bastante actualizado con todo tanto en manga como animación y la verdad sería muy interesante si me tomo mi tiempo luego como para hablar de cada arco incluso de los viejos o ciertas ovas que siguieron la continuidad del crecimiento de nuestro protagonista hasta lo que es hoy, así que será un placer para mi hablarles esta vez sobre Baki: Son of Ogre.

Baki the Grappler "Gurappura Baki" or just known as Baki, is a manga written and illustrated by Keisuke Itagaki, this was originally published in the Weekly shonen champion and succeeded by 3 sequels in the same magazine known as New grappler Baki which was serialized from 1999 to 2005, Baki son of ogre (2005 - 2012) and Baki - Dou (2014 - 2018), these series are based and designated in the manga.

En este aspecto especifico, me enfocare en brindar la información pertinente vinculada a la adaptación de este arco por parte del estudio de animación, el cual fue el estudio TMS Entertainment y sería anunciada dicha animación en Septiembre del 2020 el cual tiene como titulo Hanma Baki: Son of Ogre, siendo esta la tercera seria y entrega y la secuela de la segunda temporada en las series de Netflix, esta cuenta con un total de 12 episodios y fue liberada el 30 de Septiembre del 2021 con el título de Baki Hanma para la plataforma de Netflix.

La trama de Baki es muy simple, la historia gira en nuestro protagonista Hanma Baki el cual resulta ser el hijo de Yujiro Hanma, el cual es considerado en este mundo como la criatura más fuerte de todas y efectivamente hago mención al decirle, "criatura" porque este está por encima incluso de los humanos en muchos estatutos principalmente tanto física como mentalmente, incluso siendo este uno de ellos, la intención principal de Baki es el poder superar a su padre en combate y es algo que se verá presente en diversos arcos arriesgándose de diversas formar para pulir sus habilidades y llegar a el.
En este arco en particular, podemos ver un Baki Hanma un poco mas crecido y con un conocimiento mucho más amplio en artes marciales y físicamente mucho más fuerte, aquí este tendrá la intención de superar y pulir sus habilidades retando a un hombre llamado Biscuit Oliva o unchained el hombre más fuerte de Norte América, pero para ello tendrá que cometer acciones cuestionables con la finalidad de llegar a él y buscar dicho duelo.
Personal opinion / Opinión personal
Very well I would like to touch certain details part by part about this particular arc which I liked for the most part, it fulfilled for me the function of entertaining and exciting me enough in some fights mainly the last one, let's start with the animation. In this case the animation adapted to this arc really felt quite good and very acceptable, is that style of animation that was presented in two old arcs of this franchise, which were uploaded to the Netflix platform which are the arc of the prisoners and the arc of the raitai tournament, however I can say that in this installment if there was a little more detail in certain scenes and fights, which make it stand out enough and that are well accompanied by the style and design of the characters in question.
I can perfectly understand if for some people it is a bit weird to see characters so muscular and with proportions a little overgrown, but this is a feature set by the author and a taste that personally I am quite used to and although at the beginning if I was a little impressed when I saw it, from the beginning in old arcs and reading the manga at this point I do not dislike at all, if you leave a little that aside I think you can really get to enjoy it in many ways if you are passionate about combat or martial arts.
Regarding the plot, it has a very simple follow-up, something very characteristic of these series because as I mentioned above, everything revolves around the growth of our protagonist Baki to become stronger and face various obstacles with the task of fighting against his father and be recognized by it, but that is not a bad thing in my opinion, in fact there are many occasions in which it has a distinctive charm when it comes to dialogue or show a deep knowledge in martial arts, weapons, mentality, moral and ethical principles and philosophy at various points, with a set and large cast of characters with a very striking background in general and in this case we can see it reflected many of these factors, but especially in this arc with love and appreciation particularly in Biscuit Oliva which is one of my favorite characters and there are certain aspects in this installment that I liked a lot related to him.
As for the fights are very striking and keep you hooked, some more than others fulfill their function with entertaining the viewer and show us the range of skills of the fighters or fighters in question, although in this case would only revolve around Baki and his adaptability in prison, which is not bad, with the other cast of characters in the same that have particular skills.
To culminate, the animation of this arc is something that in the manga as well as in the plot is somewhat distant, if at first instance you see it and it catches your attention and is to your liking I recommend that you inform yourself later to see it chronologically and have a broader understanding of what happens, since these last 3 installments for the netflix platform are aimed for a specific audience, that in itself knows what happens and those who at first instance call their attention could get confused, maybe I will take the time later to make mention of it and give a guide on this, although the plot is simple there are certain factors to take into account as some characters and specific moments that helped our character in their growth, without more to say I hope you have been to your liking and thank you for coming here, until next time.
Muy bien me gustaría tocar ciertos detalles parte por parte sobre este arco en particular del cual me gusto en su mayoría, cumplió para mí la función de entretener y emocionarme bastante en algunas peleas principalmente la ultima, comencemos con la animación. En este caso la animación adaptada a este arco realmente la sentí bastante bien y muy aceptable, es aquel estilo de animación que se vio presentado en dos arcos antiguos de esta franquicia, que se subieron a la plataforma de netflix los cuales son el el arco de los prisioneros y el arco del torneo del raitai, sin embargo puedo llegar a decir que en esta entrega si hubo un poco mas de detalle en ciertas escena y combates, que le hacen resaltar bastante y que van bien acompañado al estilo y diseño de los personajes en cuestión.
Puedo llegar a entender perfectamente si para algunos se les hace un poco raro, el ver personajes tan musculados y con proporciones un poco desmedidas, pero este es una característica fijada por el autor y un gusto que en lo personal ya estoy bastante acostumbrado y aunque al comienzo si me impresiono un poco cuando lo vi, desde el comienzo en antiguos arcos y leyendo el manga a estas alturas no me desagrada en lo absoluto, si dejan un poco eso de lado creo que realmente lo pueden llegar a disfrutar en mucho aspectos si les apasiona en combate o las artes marciales.
Respecto a la trama, tiene un seguimiento muy simple algo muy característico de estas series ya que como mencione atrás, todo gira en el crecimiento de nuestro protagonista Baki para hacerse más fuerte y enfrentarse a diverso obstáculos con el cometido de luchar contra su padre y ser reconocido por el mismo, pero no por eso es algo malo a mi parecer, al ser así de hecho hay muchas ocasiones en las cuales tiene un encanto distintivo a la hora de dialogar o mostrar un conocimiento profundo sea en artes marciales, armas, mentalidad, principios morales y éticos y filosofía en diversos puntos, con un conjunto y amplio elenco de personajes con un trasfondo muy llamativo en general y en este caso lo podemos ver reflejado mucho de esos factores, pero sobre todo en este arco con el amor y apreciación particularmente en Biscuit Oliva del cual es uno de mis personajes favoritos y hay ciertos aspectos que en esta entrega me gustaron mucho relacionado a él.
En cuanto a los combates son muy llamativos y te mantienen enganchado, unos más que otros cumplen su función con entretener al espectador y mostrarnos la gama de habilidades de los luchadores o peleadores en cuestión, aunque en este caso solo giraría entorno a Baki y su adaptabilidad en la prisión, lo cual no está mal, con el otro elenco de personajes en la misma que tienen habilidades particulares.
Para culminar, la animación de este arco es algo que en el manga así como en la trama esta algo alejado, si a primera instancia lo ven y les llama la atención y es de su agrado les recomiendo que se informen luego para verlo de forma cronológica y tengan un entendimiento más amplio de lo que ocurre, ya que estas últimas 3 entregas para la plataforma de netflix están dirigidas para un público en especifico, que de por sí sabe lo que ocurre y aquellos que a primera instancia les llame la atención podrían confundirse, quizás me tome el tiempo luego para hacer mención de ello y dar una guía sobre esto, aunque la trama sea simple hay ciertos factores a tomar en cuenta como algunos personajes y momentos específicos que ayudaron a nuestro personaje en su crecimiento, sin más que decir espero haya sido de su agrado y gracias por llegar hasta aquí, hasta la próxima.
Veo que uno de los puntos fuertes de la plataforma Netflix es adquirir los derechos de este tipo de producciones que tienen miles de seguidores en el mundo entero. Yo soy un poco ajeno a todos estos géneros, lo he dicho antes, pero disfruto leyendo las publicaciones como esta, porque de esa manera estoy un poco al tanto sobre estas producciones y si me llega a tocar estar en una conversación sobre ellas, no estaré tan perdido, tendré alguna pequeña noción de lo se habla.
No lo habia visto desde ese punto de vista la verdad, pero si me parecio curioso que animaran esos arcos como tal de la franquicia de Baki, aunque al final no me quejo en lo personal, ya que veo que conformaron el siguiente arco y al final les renta porque ha tenido buena resepcion como tal en su plataforma jeje, me alegra que te guste al menos como concimiento general.
