Sesks won ERC Rally Liepaja 2022

Hi, friends!

I don't remember so dominant win as it is from Latvian Martins Sesks who won every single special stage of a Rally Liepaja which is also his home round of the European Rally Championship.

I must also admit that the rally I followed LIVE through this weekend through WRC/ERC Plus is more interesting then I thought.

Fast and flowing roads of Latvia is kinda similar to the ones we can see in the Finnish Rally Championship so that means a high average speeds but without big jumps you can see from Finnish round of WRC.

The good thing is that I didn't see a big ruts you can find on the other gravel rounds. When thirty big cars pass through the gravel road with the big speed, they leave a big ruts which makes difficult for the smaller classes to drive the special stage.

Anyway Škoda Fabia Rally2 was the dominant car this weekend and you can see that we have four Škodas in top five with one Ford Fiesta Rally2 car.

Current ERC leader Efren Llarena took 2nd place overall on the last special stage of the rally from Finnish driver Mikko Heikkila. He showed that he is really matured to win this year's European Rally Championship with this result.

Two ex-Junior WRC champions Nil Solans and Tom Kristensson finished outside of top 10 and I would say that this result removed two time winner this season Nil Solans from the title fight. Kristofersson is here just to collect the experience for the next season.

Two Estonians Ken Torn and Gregor Jeets finished 4th and 5th and it was nice to follow their fight.

Ex-works WRC regular Hayden Paddon finished 6th overall and this was good debut for him in ERC bevandu it is obvious that he wants to be seen there more then occasionally.
