Seb Ogier leads WRC Rally Mexico 2023 at half of the rally

Hi, friends!

As I wrote a few days ago, five-time rally winner Seb Ogier is trying to snatch a sixth win gravel of Mexico and currently he is on the best way to do it.

His main opponents are pretty much out of the game with only his team-mates Elfyn Evans and Kalle Rovanpera somewhere close to the top of the leader board. It seems that Toyota still has the strongest package - machinery and drivers.

Although, there is a Hyundai driver Thierry Neuville somewhere in the middle of the Toyota pack. He is currently on the last step of the podium, in 3rd place.

Another Hyundai contender Dani Sordp holds strong 5th place but he is also the last Rally1 car from the slim entry list. I don't understand why they organize the rallies in the countries where they have less then the 50 competitors on the entry list. But OK, whoever can pay the FIA entry fee of around 2m€ can be in.

So we have only five Rally1 cars on the top of the leader board and the rest of the pack are Rally2 cars with Gus Greensmith as their leader. I must admit that I didn't expect him to be at the top of the WRC2 class but I am also pleasantly surprised.

Adrien Fourmaux is currently 2nd in the class with current WRC2 champion Emil Lindholm in a 3rd place.

Rally finishes tomorrow and anything can happen along the way. Let the best happen - a always...
