Onboard rally video of the day - Mikkelsen with Škoda Fabia Rally2 at ERC Rally de Fafe 2021

Andreas Mikkelsen is currently in the hard position when looking at available seats for the next World Rally Championship season. He had some negotiations with M-Sport Ford but now, when we know that they signed Craig Breen for 2022, and they already have Adrien Fourmaux who tested new hybrid Rally1 car, it all looks slim for Mikkelsen.

What are his possibilities for 2022?
There is always a possibility to pay for a drive some number with sex zeros behind it but it's stupid to pay for a drive if you are a top driver with wins behind you in WRC.

Toyota and Hyundai are full, so the only option is M-Sport Ford, or some private team. He is very open minded for every option and we all know how big desire he has for a drive next season.

His other possibility is to stay with Škoda for another season in WRC2 or European Rally Championship through some top team like Toksport from Germany who are now satellite team for Škoda after they left the competition as a works team.

Mikkelsen wants Rally1 class for the next season and if the guys from M-Sport Ford are clever enough, they will sign Mikkelsen for free and then have two very good drivers who can fight for a podiums and two developing drivers in Greensmith and Fourmaux.

Mikkelsen is in very tough position right now but we should know more in the following days or weeks.
